Hold the phone.. according to this the original offer was 13-14 mil for Clowney not 18.5. Clayton believes the final offer will be around 15-16. No wonder all the pouting from Clowney's camp.

Sounds like guaranteed money is the sticking point now. If other teams could do visits I don't think Hawks could play hardball like this.

Its like a man walking through the desert that hasn't have a drink of water in 24 hours stumbling upon a 7-11 and offering 99 cents for a $1.29 bottle of water.

anyone following matty brown? Might wanna see what he's saying about Clowney deal... very interesting.
Also comments how people may be backing off because of his injury history and his knee. So, for those vehemently wanting Seattle to 'just over pay him' this is exactly why you don't. It's not a good deal if he can't play.

No one is saying over pay, but what they are offering is way under market value. It may very well be that that IS the market value. But if they lose him and our best pass rusher is one of the misfits we have now? And they lose him over a couple of million? Will you think that couple of million would have been over payment?

That being said, if it is a health concern? Maybe Clowney won’t get a big payday anywhere. In that case he probably ends up here.

Yeah, I have been asking about his health but haven't got any answers so am assuming he is healthy or at least will be in a few months. If he isn't then we shouldn't be offering him anything.
