Feel free to add a plus or minus to a grade.

A- including the UDFAs. Needs filled, didn't get crazy cute, and got some absolute studs. Reports on all of them seemed to include things like "hard working" and "good motor" so unlikely they bomb. 5th and 7th round picks should be strong contributors and might even start. There are a few UDFAs that look like good players, too.

They didn't get a wrecker for the interior DL and that was the biggest need. They should be solid at CB and RB. Hall had better be better than Mafe and Taylor or there is going to be no pass rush once again. They didn't address ILB either. They got a couple interior O line guys that might start but i doubt will be anything special. And they finally got serious about #3 WR which is refreshing.

That's what I like more than anything. They ignored popularity contests, pundits, public opinion, mocks, endless media hype, reaches, potential problems...any of it.

In a lot of ways, they treated this draft like last year's draft.

No fanfare, no fuckin' around on Draft Day. Stuck to their own board, their in-house brains at VMAC, kept irons in the fire throughout, and took their picks in order, well, except for the one at #83 or so, just to mess with Denver next year.

A guess is that they weren't going to invest huge draft first-round picks on anyone who wasn't ready to be a Day One Starter. Proven guys in character and deed, besides being exceptional athletes BPA who bring every other leadership intangible to the table.

We've come a long way from Draft Day Trader JS, Malik and Percy Harvin signings, reaches, second chances...you either want this team or you don't, the bar is higher than ever going into this season.

They didn't get that obvious interior D-lineman....that they sorely needed.
But the rest was great.

I'm going with an A-, just because nobody's perfect -- and by their own admission a couple things didn't fall their way.

Still, that was a kickass draft. I think it is going to turn out to be every bit as good as last year's draft.

The Patriots used 4th and 6th round picks on a place kicker and punter. WTF? Did they hire Tim Ruskell?

Yeah, DT Byron Young probably would have been better at 52 than Charbonnet. Would've been a reach, but could have traded down. 4 year starter at Alabama. Raiders got him at 70. But I loved this draft more than last year, even without a QB.

I like the idea of adding Charbonnet and McIntosh, even at 52 for Zach. Somebody is always hurt at RB, and if K9 goes out, having two quality backs who can pound the ball to step in makes us barely miss a beat. Plus, just to use them rotationally or as a pass-catching wrinkle, as well as solving slot with JSN, and our good TEs -- Geno has all the weapons he needs going in.
