Use the 1-10 scale or, if you prefer, you may substitute the following descriptive terms:
10) supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
9) freakin' awesome
8) excellent
7) groovy
6) gnarly
5) meh
4) poor
3) lousy
2) dreadful
1) bloody awful
So here is mine:
QB: 6
RB: 7
WR: 8
TE: 5
OL: 4
DL: 2
Edge: 5
LB: 5
DB: 7
ST: 6
I will average out the scores from all contributors in order to harness the cumulative knowledge and football acumen of this forum and mold it into one unified intellect, a giant football brain if you will.

Here is mine:
QB: 7 (we return a Pro Bowler that is happy to be here and plays within the offense)
RB: 8 (young studs that IMO, compliment each other well)
WR: 9 (I think we will have the best trio in the league)
TE: 6 (I thought we had real good contributions from them last year, and that was with a much less talented WR core, IMO)
OL: 6 (Another Guard from LSU? Don't mind if I do)
DL: 3 (Need bodies, but great start in FA)
LB: 5 (might be too high)
DB: 8 (pumped about LOB 2.0)
ST: 6 (need some return game spark, but the way the game is played today, who has a return game)
I am not as down on the O Line as some. I am also not as down on the D Line as many, but we don't have enough players on the D Line to really rate it much higher than I did. I like the kid we drafted from Auburn, and Bush is a good addition at LB, but not a lot really blows me away with our LBs...but Bobbie, so I needed to rate that position group a little higher than you did. I think this new coaching staff will use Bobbie a lot more like the Rams did then that dumb ass Norton Jr did.
I am sure I am jinxing our DBs, but with those CBs and the talent we have at Safety? How do I not bump that grade up a bit. I love our kicking game, just not our return game, so I agree with you that ST is just "gnarly". LOL

Assuming 4-3 defense we have 12 D lineman for fours spots. Seems like a lot of bodies.....

Go ahead and assume 3-4 then. I guess it doesn't matter.

Days shouldn't there be three position groups for the front seven? Traditional linebackers Edge rushers and true D lineman

I would assume...
Taylor, Mafe, Hall, Robinson, Smith
How about Nwosu?

I added edge to the list.

Edge is not a separate position group. It's all defensive line. If you are doing that, then you need to separate inside v outside linebacker groups and corner v safety group and guard v tackle groups. Why make the distinction for the defensive line? That's being inconsistant.
