Let's take the fan's temperature. You can choose two. I am taking 11 and 10 wins. Until this defense can stop the run and prevent 3rd down conversions, I see this as an 11 win team on the rise. If things fall there way, more than 11, obviously, but that feels realistic. I think they are overall better than last year, but the biggest problem in having a totally loaded secondary and a not so loaded front seven - is that OC's will avoid challenging the secondary and focus on attacking the front seven. I also fear injuries in the secondary due to too much tackling of ball carriers - which should be the job of the front seven. Pass rushing will not be a problem.

The offense should be formidable and can score - just not sure the defense can sustain and get off the field to get them back on. The team is definitely headed in the right direction - I think there are going to be some growing pains on defense and this is a playoff team overall - but the glaring weakness is the front seven (until proven otherwise) and they need to take the "tackling the ball carrier" pressure off the secondary as that is NOT their specialty.

If they play to their potential and can avoid injuries this team has 10 wins, easy. Most of their trouble will likely occur against SF and LAR.

Like AA, I need to see us stop the run before I completely buy into us winning the division.

If Bobby and Brooks can manage the gaps on defense with this revamped DL, and if this team can remain healthy, I think the Hawks are an 11 win team in a 17 game season. The offense and defense should both look to improve with another strong draft class and some much needed changes on defense.

Took 10, would like to see 11, but this looks like a long trip to the dentist. Hope we can start fast at 5-2 or something; I'd feel much better.

What scares me most is even with this much-improved team, our schedule is peppered with trap games top to bottom and I could even see 8-9 and missing the playoffs. Last year we dumped a couple at home we should have won, got ugly in Germany -- this looks like another crapshoot to me, plus the ever-present injury factor. NFC West title is the only way I see us going deep this year and DT not losing his $200 bet at Snoqualmie Casino.

Last year the 9ers barely needed a QB.

You guys are scaring me with these high win picks. Hope I'm wrong, but with my second pick after 10 wins, I'm going nine wins.
