ok it's a clickbait title.
Devon Witherspoon is currently the highest rated CB in the entire NFL.

I was told that we would never take a CB in the first round because they have never drafted CBs in the early rounds and that if we didn't draft a DL or NT we would have the worst D in history. lol

Pro tip on posting tweets. If you click on a link to get to the tweet and post that web address it won't work. You just need to go to the original tweet and post that shorter address and it will work.

That hit late in the game set the tone for the rest of the "D". I felt they all stepped it up a notch after that.
Kam used to have that affect.

Can’t draft Spoon if you draft Carter. Carter plays in the best possible system for him. The best thing to happen to him was for him to play at Georgia, ai mean Philly! I’d much rather have Spoon and Reed than just Carter.
It blew me away how many people bitched about this pick.

Carter doesn't have to fail for Witherspoon to be a good pick. They both can be great players

There was more reason to doubt Witherspoon early. but i don't have any complaints now.

He seems everything Pete was selling, and no waiting either, right out of the shute. Im thinking even if Carter doesn't have the issues and was there, Pete's still taking Witherspoon. I think he really wanted him

we'll never know, of course, but I don't think so. If Carter doesn't have the issues, he very well could've been the #1 pick. At worst, #3. Skill-wise, he is mentioned in the same breath as Aaron Donald and Reggie White. A game-changing talent in the #1 position of need, there is no way they don't take him if he wasn't a ticking time bomb of dumbassitude.
That's not to say they weren't excited about 'Spoon, though.
