Seahawks commit to Geno

According to Jordan Schultz. So that's Howard's son.
The Seattle Seahawks have informed quarterback Geno Smith that he will be on the roster in 2024 under his current contract, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported. Schultz said that Seattle's front office has given its commitment to Smith
Seattle is entering a new era under head coach Mike Macdonald, who took over after Pete Carroll stepped down following the end of the season. With a new coach and a team looking to get back to the playoffs, Seattle decided it wants Smith's veteran presence under center next season.

By working at it? He would seem more basketball oriented, he played, making it to the pro D league.
Schultz’s rise through the sports media landscape has been somewhat unconventional. The son of former Starbucks CEO and Seattle SuperSonics owner Howard Schultz’s resume includes stops at NBC Sports, Sirius XM, Yahoo, ESPN and the Score.
While Schultz is certainly well connected — he breaks news via his social media platform on a regular basis — he’s also more player friendly than a lot of the NFL insiders with more traditional journalism backgrounds. From 2019-2021, he co-hosted the Pull Up podcast with NBA star C.J. McCollum, while most of his time at ESPN was spent doing work for Kevin Durant’s The Boardroom.

I was almost certain that Smith would be the starter. He's their most experienced QB, and Lock isn't really an option.
I believe it was aurora who commented on another thread, saying that the coaches let Smith down. And I'm inclined to agree. He can ball, just needs some help.

Must suck to have a lying POS for a father. Good for him for finding success in spite of that.

Looks like management thinks this will be a mediocre year.
Only reason they are cool with operating with an average QB.
