Don't really agree here either. He made some plays, sure, but how low does the bar have to be if a B is because he came back a few times, because no one else saw value...after he signed the first big one.It is tough to evaluate Bruce Irvin based on numbers only. He had an aura that helped him bond with other members of this historic defense. He came up with timely plays when called upon and even though he signed his first big contract with another team, he found his way back to Seattle not once, but twice, later on in his career.
And while I understand they haven't done this with ANY of their grades, but any grade of Penny without mentioning that Chubb was available is stupid.In fact, when watching Penny at full strength, you would say to yourself, wow that guy is a first-round talent. As a running back, he had a mixture of everything. He was elusive enough to make someone miss. He was agile enough to find the holes in between tackles. He was powerful enough to lower his shoulder and do what it took to gain that additional yard. Most importantly, he had the home run-hitting speed that resulted in a lot of touchdowns. Unfortunately, his injuries continually held him back.
Okung missed 24 of 96 or 25%. That is Cal Ripken Jr. relative to those other 3 giant Eggs Shells.
I don’t remember the Eagle O Lineman who suplexed Okung, but that was bullshit. Seemed like he missed several games from it, and hard to blame him when it was that kind of cheap BS. I’ve pretty much hated the Eagles ever since. Much like when the Vikings EJ Henderson barrel rolled like 8 yards to take out Hasselbeck’s knee, and acted like it was just a football play!
