I always speculated calling an offense took a certain amount of flair and it worries me having a
first-time play caller.
Re: New OC thread
How did all that flair work out for is this season. Interesting Huff kept his job.trharder wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 1:54 amO-line guy. Run game guy.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 1:41 amThis is my Guy.

Resulted in a top ten passing offense and ten wins. Maybe I’m alone in the fact that I didn’t expect them to be that good. Huff kept his job because they gave him a BB gun and told him to go hunting. What was he supposed to do with that O Line? A big reason I think it’s stupid that we are starting at ground zero on offense again. They are so fucking delusional they had one of the worst O Lines in the NFL and fired the OC for it.

Where are you getting this top 10 passing offense stat?Michael K. wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 2:33 pmResulted in a top ten passing offense and ten wins. I go to any website that lists teams stats, click in yards or yards per game so it sorts it. Total defense is gauged by total yards, then they do rushing and passing. It’s not a new concept.

Re: New OC thread
I went back and looked at the stats and was actually surprised. The impression throughout the year was that the offense was terrible but it really wasn't. They were 14th in total yards which is slightly above average In 2023 they were 21st. They were 18th in Points which is slightly below average. In 2023 they were 17th. They were 8th in passing yards which is great. In 2023 they were 14th. The two areas where they struggled were running yards where they were 28th and interceptions where they were 26th. In 2023 they were 28th in rushing yards and 12th in interceptions.
All in all statistically I'd say they were a middle of the pack offense. and about the same level that they were at the previous year. It is odd to me that you would fire an OC in his first season with a middle of the pack offense and not give him a chance to build on what he started.

Re: New OC thread
Maybe people will listen to you.....well said. Zero reason to fire the OC after him doing what he did with what he had. Just as likely JS was tired of hearing all the shit about his bad O Line and decided to give everyone something shiny to look at. The offense wasn't great, but considering the O Line we played with? I think it was better than it should have been expected to be. Tell me the Defense has any unit as bad as the Offense does on the Line?Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 5:24 pmI went back and looked at the stats and was actually surprised. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/sea ... -analysis/According to TheAnalyst.com, Smith threw more passes under duress this season than anyone else in the NFL. He finished fifth in the NFL in completion percentage above expectation, via NFL Next Gen stats, which takes into account the circumstances a QB faces on each throw.
The Seahawks appear to have one sure thing on its line in 2025 — left tackle Charles Cross. They hope another offseason for right tackle Abe Lucas to get healthy will help him return to his rookie form.
The Seahawks should address both guard spots and center in free agency and the draft.
I was so tired of second and 11 this year. Third and 9, because we tried to force the run game. Grubb is human...but it appears we need a robot. A Pete robot that believes that punting is a win because we didn't turn it over.
I wonder if they fired Grubb because he demanded that his line be this bad? Demanded that JS spend ten years ignoring the position, letting players that perform walk and signing cheaper options? Maybe all along Grubb has been calling JS and forcing him to do these things, so they brought him here for one year as punishment?
Re: New OC thread
If middle of the pack if fine by you, then okay. MM and JS are wanting to win championships.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 5:24 pmI went back and looked at the stats and was actually surprised.
