Pretty weak arguments, because they'll want something new and fresh, and because that's how the Ravens do it

I think Geno will be back - he needs Seattle in the same way they need him. A new OC may be just the ticket, but I do not know. I do fear we have entered the perpetual state of 9-10 win seasons with no real elite status anytime soon. DK gonna age out, K9 can't stay healthy, unsure TE room, no idea how to solve the oline woes - but the defense will be good - but no one wants to watch defensive battle anymore. This is going to shrink the fan base - something I never thought would happen but I think is happening already.

I think the team is stuck in purgatory - but I am on board with Macdonald.

I agree - and keeping Geno ensures we stay at a middle team. May take us a few years to find a great QB but that's better than average football.

It's just not the right year. Weak draft and there is no one out there that can come in and make it work with this O Line. My guess is we keep Geno, we revert to a ball control offense, win 8 or so, and hope there is an answer in the next draft or free agency period.

Geno is under contract He can want more money all he wants, but he has no leverage.

That is my thought as well, but all sports media are saying he will need a raise.
So if they don't give him a raise and are expecting him to be the starter, then what.
Geno could hold out? But I haven't heard any serious conversation about just holding him to
the current contract.

His leverage is that they have a $44M cap hit if they don't restructure his contract and extend him. They need to cut him or extend him.

The more you know. You are mostly right.
However, since what they would have to pay Geno anyway is about what some people are saying he would need,
they still could just let the contract, as is, ride. sort of like the franchise tag, but not having to franchise tag him.

DId anyone watch Redskins/Buccaneers game? What a great game! Two heavy weights slugging it out - I don't know that I saw a single Seattle game this year that was that kind of quality. Tampa lost but played a really strong game - a couple plays made the difference. They lost, but looked great - we win and our games look like two turds fighting each other to get down the drain first. Refreshing to see some quality football for a change. Makes me realize just how far away Seattle really is. I mean, really, no one really won that Chicago game - even the fans lost that one.

I see NO QB's coming avail that will be making a difference any time soon in Seattle. No one in college is particularly impressive. It's bizarre how empty the QB tank is on the collegiate level. Maybe Cam Ward.
