No automatic first for defensive holding makes so much sense. I've seen third and seventeens be converted for a five yard holding call on the other side of the field!

I read the OT rules wrong, and would have changed my vote. They are asking for both teams to gain a possession no matter what? I thought they were asking for the post season to be the same as the regular season? Opening TD means game over?

I'll set it so you can change your votes.

Re: Poll: proposed NFL rule changes
I hate the stinking tush push. It's a feckin' rugby play.
Re: Poll: proposed NFL rule changes
Why?
It's supposed to be a physical sport. Not all NFL teams are even able to pull it off effectively.
Outlawing it would seem to be one more step to pussifiy the sport.
I guess I should have voted to overturn the defensive holding auto 1st down, but I didn't check anything except
not being a robot.

I am opposed to the "tush push" because, as i understand it, defenders aren't allowed to do the same thing (i.e. push the defender in front of them). Plus, as was mentioned, it is something more closely related to rugby than football traditionally and i'd rather they remain as distinct as possible from one another.

I 100% agree with Michael and the Detroit Lions on No automatic first down for defensive holding.
