So he played on a team that probably had there way with everyone they played and he still only scored 10 a game. How many do you think he is going to score playing against Pac 12 defenses?D-train wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 11:17 pm#2 Juco in the country. At least we will have a reason to watch unlike this past season.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 8:17 pmHighlight reels are great and all but I don't know how excited I can be about a guy who only scored 10 a game in JUCO. I doubt he is going to "save the program"

I guess I don't get the issue here. Are you saying the only player in JUCO worth a look in D 1 is the #1 guy?
Trust me, I have no clue if he is going to be able to play at this level, but I also see no reason to be as down as you are on a guy who has played only two years of organized ball and is considered the second best in JUCO.

All I am saying is there is no reason to expect a guy that scored under 10 pts per game in JUCO to come to D-1 and be any better than that. I would expect him to come in get a smattering of playing time and put up maybe 5 points a game. If that gets you guys excited because a couple of those points come from a windmill dunk then so be it. I have no clue why the recruiting sites would rank him so high. He was literally the 5th highest scorer on his own team.

I predict he will score more points per game than the M's got hits today. We have a low bar.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 10:16 pmAll I am saying is there is no reason to expect a guy that scored under 10 pts per game in JUCO to come to D-1 and be any better than that. I would guess they accounted for athleticism and were projecting out who could he would be since he has only played two years. There are also more to basketball than just being the guy that scores the point. If he is able to add some weight without losing explosiveness he could be a real good player. Even if he can't add weight my guess is he can help them right away on defense with that type of athleticism. Kind of a great fit for that zone, all that length and bounce.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 10:16 pmAll I am saying is there is no reason to expect a guy that scored under 10 pts per game in JUCO to come to D-1 and be any better than that. 221 x what 12? = 2652 players. I am pleasantly surprised we, one of the worst programs in the country, got the 2nd best out of over 2500 players. Throw in the windmill jam capability and God is good. There are 221 Division I teams in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) that play in 24 different regions.

If he was truly the 2nd best player in the country you would think that he would actually be a starter on his JUCO team. He is the second best in the country about as much as Markelle Fultz was when the sixers wasted the #1 pick on him.D-train wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 11:39 pm221 x what 12? = 2652 players. Hate to say it but this is an eerily similar to the DK doubters.
DK had 26 receptions his final year at Ole Miss.

He is the 2nd rated JuCo power forward and i'm pretty sure he was a starter.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 7:19 pmIf he was truly the 2nd best player in the country you would think that he would actually be a starter on his JUCO team.
