Why is it that other teams can throw downfield on UW but WSU quarterbacks who have record-setting years can only complete underneath stuff?

For the same reason that Oregon State can light up the Cougs for 53 points and 601 yards but the Huskies can only manage between 55-60 percent of that. Just one of those things.

As I mentioned to Michael, this has not been a fun season but at least we can thank God in heaven that we are not nor will we ever be........Cougs!

Really didn't see this coming...was nice though.

This defense has come a long way, and yet another feather is Lake's cap over Leach. I think Leach is gone though...he coached at the end like a guy just trying to make it look close, not win.

I do think a lot of us probably see what Captain 97 was saying, and he probably sees what we were saying. The good and bad in Eason on display today.

If this game says anything, it's how inept the coaching staff was this year, and probably last year as well, in selecting wideout talent to play.

Bynum looks like a real P12 wideout and it took him 2.5 years to get on the field for any playing time.

Is it any wonder this offense looks miles better when Baccellia and Fuller aren't primary targets? Otten and Bryant were beasts with the ball in their hands in 1-on-1's... Ty Jones blocking instead of Baccellia was miles better.

Baccellia didn't have a target today, hell, I'm not even sure he played. Fuller fumbles the ball in a key situation that would have iced the game.

Fuller’s fumble was bad luck...dude got bent backwards. He should have been a productive slot receiver...not the #1 threat this staff tried to make him.

Great game thread title btw. Funny, we had about a dozen crab apple trees in our neighborhood in Lynnwood in the 70s when I grew up. In the summer we used to ride around on our Schwin Scramblers, Diamond Backs and Mongoose BMX bikes and stop under one of the crab apple trees and pick and enjoy a few of the biggest red ripe ones and shoot the breeze about completely inconsequential care free kid thoughts.

That's kind of how that game felt yesterday now that I think about it.

I guess there's some variety in the genus of family of trees referred to as "crabapples". As a child in Shoreline, our neighbor had a back yard that had grown wild for many years (or decades) and was filled with blackberry bushes and various weeds and brush and also had a wild (crab)apple tree that had a hard, shriveled fruit that we were afraid to take a bite out of. In our back yard we had a transparent apple tree that had big good-tasting apples and another smaller one that had greenish-red apples that were less tasty, but made good pies.
