It was a demand that based on the Conference rules was IMPOSSIBLE for Washingron to accept! What part of that do you not get!?

Look at it from BYU's perspective. They get a call from Washington "Hey, our game fell through, do you want to play? We can't guarantee the game, you have to pay your way here, we aren't going to pay you a penny for the game, and you have to use our shitty refs who are the worst officials in the country." Who is the one making absurd demands? Washington is doing nothing wrong to try to come up with a backup game, but why does BYU need to "commit" to that game right on the spot when they know that there is a 95 % chance within 2 days they will know that the game isn't going to happen? They are talking to other teams as well. Why should they shut the door? Why can't they continue to talk to Washington and other teams for the next 2 days while the p12 is deciding what to do with Utah/ASU?

BYU called all their players back that they had sent home for Thanksgiving, and they had to use their own money to change travel plans. BYU practiced and prepared for Washington on Monday. Washington had been preparing for Utah since Sunday.

BYU sure as hell isn't "ducking" anyone. And if you think BYU is only a product of their schedule, then you haven't seen them play. They put up 51 against Boise State and 55 against Navy. They are not the same team that played Washington the last few years.

I've read every word you typed. BYU was willing to play, but the game was never going to happen. The end. They certainly didn't duck out of anything.

P12 is capable of guaranteeing the game. They had Washington lined up to play Utah. It doesn't hurt BYU to ask the p12 to make an exception. By the time they did that, it was obvious that Washington was going to play Utah. End of story.

The Pac 12 has said they have until Thursday to make sure their Conference teams are taken care of first. So, no, Washington can never make give the promise BYU was demanding.
