Jim Moore goes full blown dumb ass
Re: Jim Moore goes full blown dumb ass
Meh, what else do you expect from him? He should be worried about his own team instead of the rival that has beat his hapless Cougs seven years in a row.
By the way, awesome pic of him from the Apple Cup: https://twitter.com/anthony_jakeman/sta ... 1807019008

what is dumb ass about it?...He is making a point about players that sit out their bowl games, it doesn't really have to do with the Huskies specifically.
like he says there...
like he says there...
that is his job, to take positions on issues, what do you think about it? Its their decision, but I think they should play. I think in the end they could regret not playing, their last game with their teammates, a celebration, thought that was what bowl games were about? It does seem to me to be taking caution too far.I’m not trashing on these kids because they’re Huskies. If WSU quarterback Anthony Gordon pulled out of the Cheez-It Bowl, I’d trash on him too.

Its the Las Vegas Bowl. It's idiotic. Its beyond meaningless. Like I replied I honestly wouldn't care if the whole team spent the day in the Casinos and Strip Clubs.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 3:27 amwhat is dumb ass about it?...He is making a point about players that sit out their bowl games, it doesn't really have to do with the Huskies specifically.

It has these connotations that the team is going into battle, and they desperately need every last soldier to slay the savages of Boise St. Like the guys playing are going to be screaming in the fourth quarter, "if only we had Bryant and Adams we would have survived!" It is COMICAL.
Those guys playing in this game would be like seeing a penny on the freeway and running across five lanes of rush hour traffic dodging dozens of cars to try to grab it. There is absolutely no consequences to winning or losing this game. An injury could cost them MILLIONS.

Re: Jim Moore goes full blown dumb ass
i guess i see it as a reward to the team, there is no particular consequences to winning practically any bowl game is there? I don't see it as needing them to go into battle, i see as being there with their teammates. If college football isn't about comradery, what is it about?
What point is there to going to a Pro Bowl game? But guys do it, I would assume because they enjoy it, and its a chance to hang with other players. If they do not see any joy in it, okay. Like i said, its a personal choice but they might regret it when comes to such things as reunions or whatever in the future

We should care about winning bowl games, especially against top 25 teams. It matters to recruiting. When players choose to sit out it's disrespectful to the coaches trying to build a program as well as the fans.

the more i think about it, the more it bothers me...they are Huskies, its a Husky football game, play in the damn game. Players getting to chose what games they feel like playing in, talk about your new age thinking

Re: Jim Moore goes full blown dumb ass
That song is even worse than your argument. Players are not paid to play in bowl games. It is an asinine decision to risk injury and millions of dollars to play in a meaningless game that there is about a 2% chance you will impact the outcome in a game 99% of fans and recruits will forget about by Valentines Day.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 2:16 pmthe more i think about it, the more it bothers me...they are Huskies, its a Husky football game, play in the damn game. So should they have bothered playing in the Apple Cup? They didn't get paid for that, did they? The only meaning to that game, by your reasoning, was the chance to get into a slightly less crappy bowl game and one that they weren't going to find worth playing in anyway. And how about Colorado? OSU? How about every game after they were eliminated from a chance to play in the conference championship?
Another thing is the notion that they can only hurt their draft stock by playing in this bowl game. That isn't even true. There will probably be more scouts there than at any of the other game they have played in this year, and because they are going up against a solid team they would have a good opportunity to put up a meaningful showing. I really don't get it.
