Huskies vs. Sonics game thread

Post by D-train » Tue Dec 17, 2019 11:18 pm

I forgot what their mascot was so we'll call them the Seattle Sonics. Has been a while since our last game. I am going to go out on a limb and predict we are rusty offensively.

Dawgs coming off the loss to Gonzaga should most likely come up with the W at 8PM as crosstown rival (fodder?!?) Seattle Redhawks swoop into Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion this evening.

Redhawks are 6-5 this season but are rolling with 4 straight wins, averaging 11 point victories over Western Michigan, Idaho, Incarnate Word and Portland. They are led by Seattle native, 6'1 guard Terrell Brown who is averaging 20.9 ppg. He went to Garfield HS.

UW is 7-2, ranked #22. They beat Baylor the first game of the season, the Bears only loss. Baylor is currently ranked #10 and are 8-1. The Huskies two losses are to Tennessee, 7-2 and ranked just above them @ #21 and to Gonzaga, #2 with an 11-1 record. Gonzaga's blemish was to unranked Michigan Wolverines who are 7-3.

Isaiah Stewart, Jaden McDaniels and Nahziah Carter have been the stalwarts thus far this season. Quade Green's been coming on very strong the last few games.
Top support has been from Jamal Bey, Hameir Wright, Sam Timmins, Nate Roberts and Elijah Hardy. Hardy hasn't scored much at all; if he can step it up as he is capable of doing this team will be much better.
Bryan Penn-Johnson, RaeQuan Battle and Marcus Tsohonis have gotten most of the other infrequent minutes and are also pieces that have to produce more than they have when called upon. BPJ has not puled down a single rebound yet this season.....wtf?

I predict an 88- 66 win for UW.

Hameir Wright is going to send me to an early grave.

HOW DOES A GATORADE NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR NOT KNOW HOW TO SHOOT A BASKETBALL?

Looks like a broken clock is Wright once a game. He finally knocked down a 3.

Gonna come down to the wire. Another time Larry Scott being an idiot works out. A lot easier on my blood pressure checking scores on my phone rather than watching.

The reffing blows. Seattle U is clearly being favored because of their lack of size.

But what's completely embarrassing is we're being out-rebounded. If I were Hop I'd lay into them at the break, tell em if SU gets another offensive board he's calling timeout and they are all sitting.

How's a guy like Terrell Brown avg 30 in CC and get completely overlooked?

But Quade Green is a 5-star?

Great assist by McDaniels. Stewart is again the beneficiary.
