Sunny D's or Snuggle Puppies get win #13? Game Thread 2/1/20

Post by rockycola » Sun Feb 02, 2020 3:19 am

Home game for the lackluster Huskies as the Sun Devils are here for a 7:30 game. Anybody enthused?

Arizona State is 12-8, 3-4 in the PAC-12. UW is 12-10, 2-7. Maybe this is the game that all that supposed talent of Coach Hop plays up to it.

Or not.

Also, Hop did recruit tons of great and talented athletes. The problem is they have no guard play that has any kind of basketball IQ. And the turd that is Jayden Daniels is doing almost nothing for this team

They are 3 of 15 from three. Athletes, but not basketball players. I could hit 3 of 15 left handed. And no, I'm not left handed or ambidextrous.

I got $100 saying no you couldn't hit 3 for 15 lefthanded from behind the NCAA 3 pt line.

I'd come closer than these fools do right handed. I dont know that one of these kids takes a shot and I have confidence it might go in. It is pathetic.

What I suspected all along is now happening and that is that Tsohonis is playing. I think he should have been in the rotation, spelling QGreen, spelling ICarter from the beginning. He's got game and now, thrust in the role he has thrust into I think the team will jell with him and there will be improvements.

I never felt Hop had quite the right rotation going on and it's nice to see he's finally embraced making changes. He had to do in by necessity but we "should" see better play. Don't know if it will translate into winning yet but 2 new starters takes some meshing and working together.

Jalen McD. If he can understand why it is necessary to be taken out of a starting role, doesn't pout and be bitter (I think he is), he can be a star for UW for a couple of years. Unfortunately he will declare for the NBA draft and languish for 3-4 years. Stewart is gone and will thrive in the NBA. McD is far, far, far from ready.

This team is playing so dumb. The "secret" is out. Pressure the Dawgs, play tight D and the melt like ice cream on the hood of a car in August. They can't seem to run a play like other teams do with precision. Their own D is weak and every opponent seems to easily break them down and finds huge holes consistently. UW does the opposite; can't break down anybody's D, gets rattled and continuously turns it over.

Stupid fouls. Fouling at the worst possible moments. Hard to watch.

I do like Battle over Bey and/or Jalen in the starting line-up. Hameir is playing a lot better lately.

How is it that regardless of the coach, regardless of the star power of the recruits, we can NEVER play offense? I can't recall the last time we had a true shooter. Ryan Appleby?

Seems like our Dawgs are always clangers, right? Need to bring in a couple European sharpshooters, it' seems.

Maybe that is what it has come to now? The US kids are too busy having dunk competitions during AAU games that you have to go outside the country to find someone that can shoot?
