RIP Jim. I'm very appreciative for what you've done for the Husky football program.
Coach Lambright passes away
Re: Coach Lambright passes away
Not only impossible shoes to fill, but he had to contend with every administration in the conference, including his own, to keep the program running. And he didn't receive any support from our own Husky AD that didn't want him around.
Thank you, Jim, for keeping the program intact against insurmountable odds. You deserved much better than you received.

http://sportspressnw.com/2245849/2020/t ... ed-coloredBut there was never a good fit between Hedges and Lambright, a blunt, gruff personality who didn’t do well with house politics. After a 1998 season that finished 6-6 with a bowl-game loss to Air Force — the first non-winning UW season in 22 years — Hedges fired a stunned Lambright. He never coached again.
“You’re very human and it happens and it hurts so deeply and it’s unbelievable,” Lambright told Raley in a 2007 story for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. “You go through an adjustment period, and that like anything else is a shock. You have a choice of getting better or feeling sorry for yourself. I went through extreme pain. The really weird thing about it is Don James ended up stepping down because of the actions that were taken against us, and I was fired.
“There was nothing as far as a connection (to UW) goes. I had to call to see if I had to buy tickets for the coming season.”

I still wonder if "Babs" wasn't on USC's payroll while AD at UW.

I don't think I've heard of any other AD in the country that didn't have his or her support for their head football coach. Just goes to show how bad Hedges was. And Lambo had to call to see if he had to buy tickets!? What a bitch
She, along with The Coach That Shall Not Be Named, should never be allowed anywhere near Montlake, let alone the UW campus.
