So, it with 2 minutes left in the season they finally got their shit together? Give Hopkins a 20 year extension!

Haha, kind of. To be honest, Utah went to shit. We went into full press mode, fouled, etc. Utah had been like 14 for 16 at the line and missed I think five in a row! Looked very tired. Jee, I don't know, maybe press earlier? The zone defense is DOG SHIT. I can't count how many wide open threes and mid range jumpers from just inside the foul line the Huskies gave up. Just over a week ago we damn near beat Arizona in their own gym, played man to man at least the entire second half. But, against a red hot from three Utah team we play zone the entire way!Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 11:38 amSo, it with 2 minutes left in the season they finally got their shit together? Utah hit a transition three up 7 or 8 with less than two minutes to play, which seemed like a foolish shot at the time. Ended up being the difference in the game!

They don't have the right personnel to run it... on Hop to figure out he's beating a dead horse.Michael K. wrote: ↑Thu Mar 11, 2021 6:29 pmHaha, kind of. To be honest, Utah went to shit. Regarding the full-court-press... when your team is 5-20... why not run the whole game in a full court press? What the fuck do you have to lose? Force the issue and see how it works...
I love the modified full court press Oregon runs... it also doesn't zap your player's energy to run it...
Here's a thought I had... zone defense tends to break down the longer a team passes the ball around... more passing = more chances to move the zone around where you can find an open man... so more time on the shot clock = better chance to break down the zone and score.
Why wouldn't Hop run a modified press to shorten the shot clock length? I can't tell you how many times the Dawgs got the clock down to 5 seconds and the other team nailed a wide open 3 or hit a layup...

One of those is not like the other my guy.
We wouldn't be saying a thing if the Huskies or Mariners had a regular season equivalent to a 12-4 NFL record.

The Huskies were 3 and 1, which is exactly the equivalent of 12 and 4.
As a matter of fact, Coach Petersen took a lot of heat and felt the pressure after a lot of good regular seasons where his team was over matched come post season. Seems real similar to me...except Teflon Pete in the NFL is treated like a God and Coach Pete of the Pac 12 had to walk away.
One coach Pete can't win in the post season with a Franchise QB...the other had Jake Browning. Strange that the one with Browning took more heat.
