Start the one-year period from after the end of the 2007 Seahawk season, which was near the midway point of the Husky hoops and final Sonics' seasons. It was the worst sports year that any city has ever endured. Previously that honor was held by Philly in 1972-1973, with their centerpiece being the 9-73 76ers team. That was also when Steve Carlton won 27 games for a Phillies team that only won 59.

And the Beavers hung with WSU, but ended up losing. If we want to finish ahead of the Cougs, we have to become Duck fans now.
