Strange Rose Bowl, two teams from the same conference that had already played? So Oregon was ranked number one, Ohio state ranked sixth? And yet OS was favored. The gamblers knew best

Oregon would have been better off if when they played the first time? Lanning hadn't pulled the BS he pulled with the loophole causing the run off. Ohio State has been on a mission ever since and I am sure when they saw the matchups they threw a damn part knowing they'd have the opportunity to pay it forward. Lanning acted like a JackAss, all because he figured out a way to cheat a team out of ten seconds at the end of a game. Sure, there were far more plays in that game for Ohio State to have won, but I promise you the way that game ended, the commotion it caused, and the way Lanning rejoiced as if he had solved world hunger? Ohio State had a little extra something something for the 0s this time around.

Yep. Ohio St. was Trump and Ducks have another thing in common with Kamala beside both sucking and trying to buy their way to the top. lolDonn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 10:49 amStrange Rose Bowl, two teams from the same conference that had already played? I heard about that but don't know the details. How did he do it?Michael K. wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 4:07 pmOregon would have been better off if when they played the first time? It had something to do with the way 12 men on the field penalties are assessed at the end of the half, I believe. How ever he did it, he had 12 on the field on purpose and it forced Ohio State to have a ten second run off, so when they completed the next pass, they couldn't get the FG team on the field in time to win it. They could have spiked the ball and had time, without that ten second run off. Chances are the Ducks would have lost that game, and probably been in a better position last night, since they probably don't play Ohio State!
Word is the SEC and Big 10 are going to push for straight seeding. Meaning, Conference Champs won't matter. The same teams will get in, but you then seed based on their seeds. Had they done that? Chances are the three teams already in the Final 4 would have all been Big teams.

https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/col ... rose-bowl/In one regard, Petitti is probably delighted: Penn State will join Ohio State in the semifinals after a decisive victory over Boise State on Tuesday in the Fiesta Bowl.
But Petitti might have walked away from the Rose Bowl frustrated that his conference couldn’t place a third team in the semifinals — that Oregon and Ohio State were matched against each other because of a flawed CFP process that prioritizes conference championships.
Had the CFP’s selection committee seeded the 12 teams based on the final rankings, the Ducks and Buckeyes would not have played an elimination game in the quarterfinals.
Ohio State would have been the No. 6 seed, not the No. 8, and faced Texas in the quarters. And as the No. 1 seed, Oregon would have faced the winner of the Nos. 8-9 game, Boise State or Indiana.
Both the Buckeyes and Ducks could have advanced to the semifinals, along with Penn State, which would have been the No. 4 seed in a bracket based on ranking.
