Cholowski placed on waivers by Kraken

Post by Sexymarinersfan » Fri Oct 15, 2021 8:32 am

Hopefully he clears, but its not like we don't already have an abundance of defensemen already. We are loaded at the position. Still though, I'd hate to lose a former first round pick, especially before he ever truly got his shot to reach his potential. If he clears, he'll go to the AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Crosscheckers, whom we share with until a team is ready for us in the future.

Without him on the roster, the team is still carrying eight options at the position. William Borgen and Carson Soucy were both scratched Tuesday night, but either is more than capable of stepping into the lineup if needed. They also likely pose more of a waiver claim risk, even with Soucy’s $2.75M contract. After Cholowski’s disappointing 2020-21, he very well could clear unscathed.

Well that didn't take very long...damnit!

In all fairness, we were able to get ABB(Alex Barré-Boulet) through waivers the day before, who I would take over Cholowski hands down, and not just because we need C's.
