11/6/21 Kraken vs Coyotes game thread

Post by DavidGee24 » Sat Nov 06, 2021 9:18 pm

The Coyotes are 0-10-1. They've scored 14 goals in 11 games while giving up 44. That is as bad as an NHL team can be. If the boys play the way they've been playing lately this one should be a breeze.

Perhaps they should change their name to Peyotes and start smoking some.

...and the Kraken allows 5 goals to a team that was barely averaging over 1 per game and gives them their first win.

Unfuckingbelievable. Two goals in the first minute of the game, and they lose to the worst team in the league. A game-saving goal by Giordano and they give it right back 13 seconds later. Grubauer gives up five goals on 22 shots to a team averaging 1.3 goals per game. His numbers are way worse than they were last season and maybe Driedger needs to get the start in Vegas on Saturday.

Goalie should be their #1 priority this off-season. Grubby stinks.

Bunch of whiny, land-locked starfish, you guys are!
Expect this and more for a fledgling, expansion team. Sheesh almighty, ya idgits.
I don't know hockey but supposedly they exceeded all hope with the two goalies they got. Ever met a perfect goalie?

Consider this, also: Goalie Chris Driedger was on the IR from 10/19 to 11/3, missing 6 games in the process. Don't know who backed up Philipp Grubauer while CD was out.

The Seattle Kraken should be in the Jennings Trophy conversation with one of the best goalie tandems coming into the season.

The William M. Jennings Trophy is awarded to the goaltending duo from the team with the least goals against in the season. Last year it was awarded to the Vegas Golden Knights. Their tandem of Marc-Andre Fleury and Robin Lehner is no longer together.

There are the usual culprits that hang around the top group year in and year out. But there should also be a shift in the field as the 2021 off-season was a big one for goalies changing homes. A projected Philipp Grubauer and Chris Driedger combo, their most recent success bolster the chances of them topping the list.

Grubauer signed with the Kraken after finishing third in Vezina Trophy voting. He backstopped a Colorado Avalanche team that finished the season only 10 goals back of the league leaders. This was good enough for third as well as far as rankings go. Driedger carried a big load in sneaking the Florida Panthers into the top-10 best goals against per game. If he had played more than 23 games, they could have easily risen higher.

NN's and DD's, go crack open a Kraken and enjoy Seattle having the franchise while they go through growing pains.

You mean expect them to struggle like the Golden Knights did a couple years ago in their inaugural season? Oh wait...

This just history as opposed to any legit comparison.

After 12 games:
Kraken 4-7-1
1967 Sonics 2-10
1976 Seahawks 2-10
1977 Mariners 5-7
