Finally there are signs of life in Seattle's cerebral cortex. The most unqualified and utterly moronic Seattle Mayor in history, Katie Wilson, now faces the backlash of her staggering ineptness and incompetence.

AN honest question for everyone - how does someone so inexperienced, so clueless, so incompetent, so devoid of ANY qualifications, actually get elected? Ignore dem/rep for a moment - how does this happen? Who would support someone so brazenly unqualified? I just don't get it. Are seattle's elections rigged? Seriously, how on any level does this happen? The continued downgrade and destruction of America's metropolitan areas on full display - it's almost like this is intentional. This is like the seahawks just pulling somoene off the street who knows nothing about football to coach the team. It makes no sense on any level at all. Literally zero qualifications.

I cannot wrap my mind around how anyone so fucking stupid has the keys to the kingdom in seattle - because people actually VOTED for this level of incompetence. DId anyone on here actually vote for this complete retard?

Please discuss.

Pretty simple. There are massive quantities of Far left Idiot Socialist Loons in Seattle that vote and she was one of them so why wouldn't they vote for her????
So ***I*** am a "far left idiot socialist loon"???? Hey man.

Oh, wait. I didn't vote for her.

But I know people who I am sure voted for her. And they are normal people. They own houses, they have kids, they own businesses, they work hard. They just have different political views than I do, and obviously different than you do. I think we could use less demonizing of people we disagree with, and focus on specific points of disagreements rather than broad-brush disparagement. Just my two cents.

People who think that socialism/communism is good, and capitalism is bad should be demonized. If we all can't agree that capitalism has brought more people out of poverty than any other system in the world, then that's nobody's fault except the truly ignorant. It's why the "poor" people in this country are 1000 times better off than any other place on earth.

I agree with you completely about the benefits of capitalism. But I'll repeat ... that among the people I'm pretty sure voted for Wilson are small business owners. They are capitalists, I think by definition. They believe in markets.

Now, having said that, I think there are people who feel that capitalism, as it's currently working in this country, is benefiting the ultra rich and not the average person. That is not a "capitalism is bad" position. I sympathize with it. You don't have to be a socialist or Communist to feel that "the system is rigged." (I think that is a common complaint from people across the political spectrum.)

So apparently the "recall" was brought forth by some random ding-dong and it's already out of the news cycle. I mean, you're seriously going to elect someone like Wilson and then immediately recall her? Yeah, right. It's like the liberals who immediately after we elect Trump start screaming for impeachment.

I don't think it's as bad as the "impeach Trump" calls that started before he even took office the first time. Yes, I know there are people who don't like Wilson and hope she is a disaster. But even people who support her should admit that the response to the Bite of Seattle shooting was really poorly handled, as was her forcing out the chief of police. I don't think I saw any stories about an impeachment effort until after these things happened.

Even so, it's only one event and it's very early in her term. She's going to have to have an ongoing series of mistakes in order to get recalled. And even with that she'll probably get the same amount of rope that Dan Wilson does.

I'm not a fan of communism or socialism, but I do find a country like Norway very interesting.

From Wiki:

"Norway is usually described as part of the Nordic model, which combines a market-based economy with a strong welfare state. The Nordic countries are not generally described as socialist planned economies."

The Government Pension Fund of Norway is the sovereign wealth fund collectively owned by the Government of Norway. It consists of two entirely separate sovereign wealth funds: the Government Pension Fund Global and the Government Pension Fund Norway. The Government Pension Fund of Norway is estimated to be at $2.26 trillion.

Additionally, Norway is ranked 6th in the World Happiness Report 2026. The country consistently places high due to factors like social support, high income levels, and personal freedom.
