I think you just answered your own question. You say that you see left and right opinions (some based on logic, others not so much), and some of them you agree with and some of them you don't. And that is the difference.

It's not that anyone is telling you outright what to think, it's subliminal (Inadequate to produce conscious awareness but able to evoke a response).

Because the world is FULL of people who simply take everything at face value, follow the crowd and drink the Kool-Aid.
Interesting. The subliminal influence is something that advertisers use, right? Do opinion writers use is too, do you think?
