Midterm election poll
Re: Midterm election poll
Trump got screwed by a lot of his inner circle in his first term, so I think loyalty was a top priority - but who wouldn't put that up top? Next is having other opinions to listen to for consideration - and I have heard he is good at that. A friend of mine worked on the Apprentice and said he would always listen to you, no matter how far down the ladder you were. That always stuck with me.gil wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2026 8:38 pmI think that is a really good point. But it seems that Trump not learning how to govern from the first term is part of the tragedy here.douche wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2026 7:43 pmI mentioned this on another thread, and it intrigues me...auroraave wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2026 4:12 pmThere is so much irony right now. Trump, a narcissist, a man I truly believe wants/needs to be liked and admired, just flushed away any and all good will the Republicans had built up. He killed them off - this is all on him. All he had to do was NOT go to war and ONLY concentrate on the economy. He did the opposite. Now, a man who's led by his inflated ego, has to watch while his term goes down as one of the worst and most damaging ever - and this is after having a pretty good first term. Truth be told - it's all because of Israel - he backed them completely - they destroyed him completely.
His legacy is in shambles - and he knows it. A well deserved dagger to the ego. Why is no one mentioning any of this?
But it's going to get so so so much worse. The dems now have unlimited power - and they will destroy they rest of the country - they will do everything they can to ensure they never, ever ever lose another election - they'll fuck up the supreme court, they'll add states only they can win - and it is going to be devastating to the country. The people that think a dem landslide is a good thing - are going to get thier throats slit by those they voted for. The dems are going to do to us what Israel just did to trump. What's stunning is people don't see it coming. The irony is just so fucking thick.
We all lost this week - make no mistake. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Whatever faults the Reps have, and they have them, pales in comparison to the damage the dems will continue to do. Any rational, reasonable, objective mind sees this. I can't even fathom the new taxes and new ways to steal our money and push us all closer to poverty coming our way, but they are coming. Ironic people voted for that and think it's a win.
There has only been one other president who won a term, lost the next one, then won again. His name is Grover Cleveland.
My point is that Trump had the advantage of having already been in office. He knew the inner workings and you had to know that when he lost, he was rehashing what he would have done differently. Or at least considering what he would do differently given another opportunity (that's what most people do). So when he got in again, he should have had a really good idea with regard to strategy and approach.
Just seems like a hugely missed opportunity on his part.
I also think it's possible that Trump learned the wrong lessons from the first term. Such as, don't hire/appoint anyone who might be personally disloyal. Don't hire/appoint anyone who might disagree and push back. So apparently there was not enough "gravitas" among any advisor who would have said that the war on Iran was a bad idea.
Now the second term, and you see an exodus of people like Bongino, Gabbert, and the press secretaries. There has to be some connective tissue here. I think they all vehemently disagreed with him and simply could no longer support him. Trump was in the ultimate conflict - do what's right or do what Israel is paying you for - My theory is that this is the term where Trump learned the real lessons of politics - he was enslaved to those that put him there - and rememebr Marion Rosenberg donated something like 250 million - and he was owned by Israel. All the bluster with tarriffs etc was Trump failing to understand you can't just force your will - that won't work. Once Israel led him down the war path - IMO - this was all Netanhayu desperate to stay in power - he lost everyone - his base, his cabinet, the party. He knows it too. Once he went too far down that path there was no way to reverse course and he is now left with huge huge lessons learned - Israel is not his friend - they completely used him and I think he now understands that - he knows the war killed him - he's admitted it. The VP released a scathing ctiticism of Trumps policy - and Trump admitted it was true - but then he also is stiull trying to sell "OMG, Iran can't get a nuke" which is nonsense - and if you look back over the last 30 years - how many fucking times has a sitting president uttered those exact words to justify middle east warring - on OUR dime. Wash rinse repeat.
I know this sounds like BPJ, but if we just kicked Israel to the curb, a shit ton of problems would be solved, period. Nothing, and I mean nothing positive has ever come from us 'helping them' by giving them all our $$ and kids to die on thier behalf. I think Trump just did the math on that and realizes what a huge mistake this was. Now he knows how politics really works.
In a way it's a win for us all - we have watched a politician turned into a patsy in real time - just like Joe Biden was. Hopefully we are learning the lessons of how it really is. The next question is what do they get to walk away with as compensation for thier horrible deeds? Trump as lost all credibility - a dagger for an ego maniac.
Something else to think about: The republicans get swept - no rioting, no protesting, no violence, no cities burning to the ground. Acceptance. We've had 8-10 years of non stop insanity by the dems and loony leftists when they don't get thier way. Say what you want about Republicans and thier base - they don't burn your house down and call you racist when they disagree with you. No, that's the leftist playbook.
