So, were there bullets in the gun or not? I seem to recall some guy on a new TV series in the mid 80's offing himself on set with a prop gun that contained blanks.

Even a prop gun can be deadly (at very close range). It still contains gun powder and wadding (without the wadding the gun power would just fizzle with minimal bang). When fired the wadding will still travel through the barrel with a controlled explosion and come out at a deadly velocity. Once the wadding is out of the barrel it slows very quickly.

There is no doubt in my mind that Baldwin was dicking around with A LOADED prop gun, not knowing what he should do with it, and he pulled the trigger and the cinematographer was just wrong place and standing too close.

Two choices:
Baldwin shouldn't have been playing with something he knows nothing about.
Or he was careless and is a total dickhead for killing someone.

Me thinks Hollywood has some real problems. A quote from an article I found on the shooting.

In one of the most troubling, celebrity website TMZ.com, citing unidentified sources connected to the production, said the gun handed to Baldwin had previously been used by crew members for target practice off-set, using real bullets.

If it's a prop gun, why can it shoot real bullets? If it can shoot real bullets, wouldn't it be a REAL GUN, with blanks?

Hollywood is really fucked up.

On the warrant for this accident, it's stated that Baldwin had been practicing with the gun while setting up the camera, so I was wrong, he wasn't dicking around. But that still doesn't answer my questions as to why real bullets can be used in a prop gun and why he was so close to the camera.

But he is still a total turd and hypocrite.

The second place I went is to my gripe that Hollywood is more than happy to be hypocritical when it comes to guns. They use the fake ones to rake in billions, but don't think the common people should possess them. Baldwin is the crowning jewel of this hypricricy.

Then they also use real ones with their "protection detail", but don't think common people should possess them.

What happened is a crying shame and should never have happened. I feel for the man's family.....Baldwin can go fuck himself.

Agreed! And the interesting thing is that Baldwin will forever be remembered for pulling the trigger. I feel sadness for the woman's family. But Baldwin? Not a chance. Karma is a Bitch.

Are you saying that we must be accepting of their hatred and cannot possess any for their beliefs that they are trying to FORCE ON US?

Have you ever noticed that our beliefs (specifically mine) allow anyone to have any fucked up ideal they want....as long as they don't affect me or mine. They can certainly be against guns, but as soon as that belief affects my way of life, it's an infringement on my rights. I hold no beliefs that affect their way of life.

If they don't like guns, don't purchase any.
If they want to cut a baby out of themselves, do it.
They can get any vaccine they want, don't force it on me.

Guns are a great love of mine that need to be handled with great care whether they are real or prop. Even when I kids had squirt buns at age 4, they were taught gun safety, then let lose to shoot one another with water.

Gun safety is a way of life if they are going to be around.

I find it somewhat ridiculous that people have dredged up a 4 year old tweet from Baldwin, 'wondering how it must feel to wrongfully kill someone', in reference to a fatal shooting by a police officer in Huntington Beach.

2 different situations, in my opinion.
