Shapiro had a good analogy that really made me reconsider my position.

What if your child was in a car accident and had to go on life support for several months. The Dr. said they can't survive on their own now and won't be able to for several months. But after that they will make a full recovery. Should it be legal to take them off life support and let them die knowing that in just a few months the will be fully healthy and can live on their own?

No Bible or morals required to make this decision imo.

And the same lunatics that say my body my choice believe in vax mandates and claim it is because not getting vaxxed can endanger others. Well call me crazy but I have read that "others" can be harmed just a bit during abortions as well.

I think the flaw in that position, is you cannot guarantee survival. Not in medicine. too many variables - and no doctor would ever make that guarantee. However, hypothetically, no one would pull the plug on a child if that guarantee could be made - except the insurance companies. The insurance aspect of it all would get very interesting.

You are right, if someone is in a coma they can't guarantee anything but people still don't pull the plug. But with abortion you can almost guarantee that child will be born alive in a few months but its totally legal to not only let it die, but to kill it.

Jay also say yesterday that as far as abortion is concerned, it's "My Body, My Choice!" Guess that works only for abortions. Newsflash: if the Supremes strike down Roe v. Wade, the decision reverts back to the States. Since the issue isn't in the Constitution, that's exactly where it belongs.
That's always been my view.
Let the voters decide....mob rules!!!!
I'm completely pro-choice - but I also believe it should be up to the states to decide for themselves - based on what the majority want. This is not a one-size-fits-all situation. State's differ in so many ways. If you are anti-abortion - don't get one - but you have no right to decide for someone else. That's utter nonsense. Is there ever a reason an abortion is necessary? Of course. therefore it needs to be an option. People that use the bible will be summarily dismissed by be - your moral guide book is not anyone else's - and it's the perfect example of separation of church and state. I reject religion as a base for setting laws - see the Taliban as to why. If you knew your child would be severely deformed, have zero quality of life, while completely ruining yours, it's not practical to bring it into the world, regardless of religion or feelings. However if that's what you want - go for it.
You and I are not that far apart at all. I too believe that it's a personal choice....but I like to stand up for the man's rights as the father. The way I see it, if the man want's the child, why can't he have it. The woman has the right to force the father to pay child support for 18 years.

I also believe the states should choose for themselves. If a state doesn't want to have abortion, then that is fewer tax dollars going to killing babies.
