It's the checks and balances of the American democracy.
Why is that amusing? It's how the constitution was written, it was considered critical to controlling the power of any single branch of the government
Agreed, but I think that checks and balances are illusions. It's called, 'corruption'. But I also have a hard time believing in democracy sometimes.

Illusion? You just saw it in action. Trump had to concede to Congress over his justice department nominee, that's checks and balances. that's it. I think it's pretty remarkable actually. The founding fathers were concerned about the concentration of power, a king essentially, and so worked out a system that tried to allow for on one hand, the will of the majority but not the tyranny of the majority. And what really were farmers developed a political system 250 years ago that still functions effectively today, at least better than anyone else's. It's a remarkable system, the best in the world. I wish I understood it better. You could spend a lifetime just studying it, and I appreciate it when someone places our American political system above their personal political beliefs

The complaint with the American system isn't corruption, it's grid lock. You can't get enough done with how the system is built to allow for minority interests. It's interesting to me all the places you see it. The electoral college is another example, attempting to balance the power of large states against small ones. It really is fascinating to me. How the entire system was constructed to mitigate the concentration of power. And that they were able to conceive, develop and install it in really a matter of months. Imagine trying to do something like that today

Where exactly did Trump 'concede' his nomination to congress? It never went to congress, it was never voted one, Gaetz withdrew. Are you being intentionally incorrect?

No, it's corruption. And it is about the elite donor class and massive corporate interests destroying everything for their profits - Phizer, the war industry, blackrock, censorship, open borders. You could not possibly be more wrong. The minority/corporate interests ARE the corruption.

Seems like you guys are talking about two different things. The power of the elite donors and corporations comes from structural features of 21st century capitalism *combined with* political decisions about money in politics (i.e., let if flow, pretty much unrestricted). That isn't the minority interests, as best I can tell, that the founding fathers had in mind: they didn't want tyranny, so they created things like 3 branches of government, the electoral college, and the Bill of Rights.

So if Byron Donald's takes over Rubio's Senate seat, and Gaetz gets appointed as Special Prosecutor, with Kash Patel at the DOJ or FBI, I like where things stand.

I don't love all of Trump's picks, but he still seems on track to do what's right for America, so will give him the benefit of the doubt.

He had massive turnover in his first administration. I expect to see him have an even quicker hook this time around when people aren't pushing his agenda forward.

Have to hope the House and Senate play along to get anything done this time around.
