OT-Bitten by a black widow

Wow,
Yesterday I was cleaning up some old debris that we acquired in our move and got bitten by a Black Widow spider.
I realize that they have been here longer than we have, so I'm not pissed but the back spasms and stomach cramps can really compel you to eradicate the entire spider population.
The stomach cramps have stopped, but the back is still on fire.
Has anyone else been bitten by a bw spider?
Funny thing, I didn't even feel it happen. While cleaning up the debris, I killed a few, but never saw/felt the one that bit me.

Ouch, hope the symptoms go away quickly Walla, that sounds pretty miserable.

Yes, I hope you are doing much better soon. I saw them frequently when I lived in Los Angeles, but never had a bite.

Did you see a doctor? The venom affects people differently.

Looking on-line the last person that died from a BW bite was back in the 1980's and was elderly.
-doubtful, I'll be the next one-
The stomach cramps did last 12 hours, then subsided....they were not that bad, caused a loss of some sleep, but tolerable.
The back cramps/spasms are starting to subside...here is where the issue was, couldn't sit in my office chair for more than 10 minutes...but loved laying on the floor totally flat.
I'm guessing I'll be back to 100% today.

Office chairs can be a slow death.
You need to spend more time laying on the floor. Your posture will thank you

One of only the few reasons to live in Western Washington. No Black Widow spiders. Oh, and no rattlesnakes, either. But I can't think of any other reasons. Give me a week or two and I might find another reason.

You know a Black widow spider
could hitch a ride with a piece of
wood, etc.
Or if you live next to the railroad
tracks they and snakes can hitch
a ride on them too. That I know
for sure. (Snakes on trains).
