Re: Trade!!!!
I know I didn't go into much detail about the trades other than I liked the kids. To me, Jerry did a jedi mind trick on the Nats GM, he got a top 20 prospect in Fletcher for a pitcher who only threw 4 innings for the Mariners. Guibeau and Alvardo for Elias was about the kind of package I was hoping to get. Guibeau I think will be the best of the 3.
Up until the rebuild Caballero would've been in the top 30 prospects on the pipeline, very intriguing combo of speed and power and can play 2nd, 3rd and once in a while SS.
As for what is going on with Leake, Servais, and the ownership and their relationship I really hate seeing this type of crap being put into the press and it makes both parties look bad but more so the ownership group, it makes them look petty, and insecure. Hopefully they will learn for this and grow the hell up.

Ummm the Nats have the 27th ranked farm system post -draft....getting their top 20 is the equivalent of getting a 2 years ago Mariner farm system playerMarinerjim11 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 4:13 pmI know I didn't go into much detail about the trades other than I liked the kids. Re: Trade!!!!
You know your bullpen is awful when you're shoring it up by acquiring relief pitchers from the 2019 Seattle Mariners.

Re: Trade!!!!
"it was a great haul"?? We might see a couple of those pitchers eventually pull a few innings for the M's.... but these three trades ranked among the bottom 25% of the mid season trade deals. I'm just happy because we opened up a couple spots on this crappy roster and with Leake and Elias gone, we may lose a few more games and climb up a peg in next year's draft. The "outfield-to-pitcher" conversion player has hit 100 mph .... looks like Arizona made a "great haul" but not the M's.bpj wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 4:02 amIt was a great haul.
Will make trading from our minor league depth the next year to fill a hole or two on the major league roster more palatable.
Brad Adam looks like he's vaselined up for a boxing match tonight in the postgame.
Looks like a turkey fresh out of the oven with that tight, shiny skin.

Re: Trade!!!!
While I don't think it was a great haul I think the players we acquired all have a chance to contribute to the majors this year or next year and be solid bullpen personal.

It was a great haul for 2 relief pitchers that are doing us no good.
Re: Trade!!!!
Mariners got a top 20 prospect for their team, and a decent lottery ticket for a middle reliever. Pretty fair trade, but Mariners didn't have much leverage, so Im surprised they got that much. They also traded a reliever that has been on the DL all year for a guy in their top 30. Relatively it was pretty dang good.AT Fresno wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 5:06 pm"it was a great haul"??
