Aaron Rodgers officially a Jet

Post by SeattleAddict » Mon Apr 24, 2023 9:05 pm

Jest get:
Rodgers AND the Packers' #15 overall AND #170

for

#13, #42, #207 and a conditional pick that will probably be first round 2024 (assuming Rodgers plays 65% of the snaps, otherwise 2nd)

Jets could be good this year... then suck again after Rodgers retires again haha

Wow, the Packers just move up two spots and get a second rounders. Not quite the RW package is it?

Ok the 2024 pick if a first rounder makes it seem fairly reasonable. What do you guys think?

Who wants a 39 year old headcase?

No thanks.

As an aside, the Hurts' contract is ridiculous. These GMs and execs are morons.

Hawks had more leverage for multiple reasons. less of a reputation for being a cancer, younger, more potential trade partners etc. There was also the fact that he wasn't demanding a trade publicly and they could have at least used willingness to keep him as leverage.

Since Rodgers said he wanted to be traded to the Jets the Jets were in the driver's seat as far as what the price would be. Probably akin to Griffey demanding a trade to the Reds.

this got me thinking - in a situation like this where one or both teams kind of painted themselves into a corner so HAVE to make a trade, do GMs try to really stick it to the other team, or do they still try to make it reasonably fair, so they don't burn future bridges? Like say you have a team that really wants to dump a guy that would normally be worth a 2nd rounder, but they have to get rid of him and everybody knows it. If you're another team, do you offer maybe a 3rd or 4th or try to lowball with a 7th? Obviously "it depends" but my question is generally, do teams think about the repercussions of taking advantage of another team? Like, I wonder if we can't even talk to the Broncos about trades any more.
