The main issue, in my opinion, is not that they didn't spend big but that they are getting (or have gotten) so little production out of Julio and Kelenic. Both of them were tagged as future stars and the core of the Mariners lineup for years to come and neither is close to living up that. There is something going on there that needs to be addressed and soon.

It's a large bulk of the Mariners fans that are the issue here. Unfortunately, Seattle is filled with clueless nitwits who don't really give two shits about sports. It's just another social event they can attend to keep up with the Jones'.

He has two quotas to fill. One would be number of words typed, and while yours's is a more clear summation of the issue? Not enough words. Two? As any sports talking head in Seattle? Rule one is like rule one in Robo Cop....he can't kill the employer. Rule one in Seattle Sports media is that you MUST kiss the ass of the organization you cover. Right? The Sports Media is as passive as possible and half the fans don't even pay attention to the game. Look at the number of people with their back to the game at Edgar's cantina? Dressed in their skinny jeans and favorite club hopping shirt. Which brings me to this...different topic, but I grew up in a small farming town. What's hip has never been a big deal to me, but I wasn't a cowboy, I was a hick. I recently went to the George Strait and Chris Stapleton concert. The number of guys who's jeans wouldn't go below the ankle of their "cowboy boots" because they were too skinny was astronomical! The hick in me died a little every time one of those wanna bees walked by me! LOL, fucking Seattle.
