It’s safe to say that Kenneth Walker III and rookie Zach Charbonnet are the top two options at running back, and while our own John P. Gilbert predicts Zach will be starting over Walker, I think there may be some weeks where one is preferred over the other—consider them 1a and 1b.

He is RB3 now and I think he keeps that role for game one. But it is pretty nebulous who is RB3 and who is RB4 right? Is it the third back in the game or is it the one with the most plays or most carries or most touches. Kenny could easily be RB3 but the end of the season. This is Dallas' walk year so if McIntosh shows out I could see then relegating DJ to special teams after Thanksgiving and then letting him walk.

I would favor McIntosh to win the 3rd down back role while Dallas would be ahead of him in the pecking order for starting RB.

Right and then it gets even more ambiguous who is 3 and who is 4 in that room at the VMAC where the running backs meet and talk shop.

Isn't that just a converted broom closet?

is this predicting week 1? Or end of year (which is more important)?

I assume week 1, so I'm going:
Haynes
Brown
McIntosh
Eskridge
UDFAs

For end of year:

Bradford takes over for Haynes. Although I think there's a good possibility some guys switch positions, possibly to get Olu in and replace Haynes and Eskridge, who are sure to get injured.
