GT 7/18 Mariners vs Twinkies

Post by bpj » Tue Jul 18, 2023 11:15 am

Woo takes the mound for the Mariners, some loser takes the mound for the Twins.

Looking to make it three in a row and get on a winning streak!

That bobblehead looks nothing like Ty France, even for a bobblehead.
And if they really wanted to lean into the whole "France" thing they should have given him frog legs and maybe there should be a rifle on the ground.

I am usually really good at figuring out what guys look like and that bobble head looks very familiar. Somebody that looks nothing like France. I know you are good at this too. What do you got? :)

Nice to see Wong right where he belongs even though there's a right handed pitcher going.

Maybe Servais finally realized...

Hopefully this means Caballero will get steady playing time now, see what they've got in him.

His WAR/600 sits at 5.16.

Some of the guys in the Top 15 in 2B WAR stack ip in WAR per 600 Plate Appearances-

Marcus Semien: 4.70
Ha-Seong Kim: 5.61
Luis Arraez: 4.25
Theiro Estrada: 4.95
Ozzie Albies: 3.82
Ketel Marte: 3.48
Nico Hoerner: 3.38
Bryson Stott: 3.54
Brendan Donovan: 3.83
Brandon Drury: 3.32
Whit Merrifield: 2.97
Andres Gimenez: 2.70
Nolan Gorman: 2.75
Jonathan India: 1.87
Gleyber Torres: 1.97
.
.
.
Adam Frazier: 0.78

5.16 for Caballero is outstanding. #2 in MLB.

They need to let Cabby ride with full time 2B the rest of the season so we know what needs we have going into 2024.

It looks like a former Mariner but I can't quite remember who it is. Someone from recent, like last 10 years. It'll come to me.

I wonder if it's an unreleased bobblehead of another player who was cut before they had his bobblehead day. They added the France gimmicks and a 5 o'clock shadow to make it plausibly Ty France.

It absolutely looks a lot like somebody, but I just can't mine it from my head.
