We have enough role players. Enough utility players. Enough guys that can bat 5th or 6th in the lineup. We're missing the guys who should actually be hitting 3 and 4 in the lineup.

The depth is there. The impact is not. A guy like Mark Canha isn't going to do anything.

What we need is two impact players that between them can add 8 wins to the team.

The problem is our best players have been Caballero (5+ WAR pace) and Mike Ford (60 HR pace) and they're the two that Dipoto's dumbass will even consider replacing.

Scheiner, Jake: .272/392/563/956 only a 22.6% K rate. Has played 50 games at 3B and has also played in both LF and RF. Should have came up instead of Marlowe and his sub .800 OPS.

Saw this come up the M's may be interested in trading for the Metz:
One player that reportedly could find himself on the move is utility man Mark Canha and one interested club is the Seattle Mariners, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

He has a 107 OPS+ this year but has averaged a 122 the last 6 years with a peak of 144 back in 2019. He is 35 so I imagine you should expect the under but he hit well in Oakland so he probably won't fall off a cliff. I imagine he is pretty cheap to get in prospect cost.

Would be the stupidest trade in the history of baseball and wouldn't even be close. A mediocre team with 10% odds of making the playoffs gives up one of its top two starters and guts the farm for a two month rental. Can't make it up.
