Normally I would agree with you except they signed a veteran at a position that plays a position one of their good 22 yo players making minimum wage could easily have covered.
I see this the same as the Mariner's trading away one of their young pitchers for a positional player.

I'm not sure that's true given the fan response to the recent bullshit.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 10:14 pmThey have zero leverage.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Thu Dec 07, 2023 9:41 pmIf you’re JP or Cal, why not come out and demand a trade if the team isn’t willing to spend money around you?
Force their hands.
Screw it. Don't show up to Spring Training...
It's not like the M's will sign someone to replace them. Tell the fans you're not performing for a front office that doesn't care about winning.

Interesting, a lot to pay for a year at DH, but in terms of his actual value probably about right

Just come out with displeasure with the owner and/or organization and you will be out of here.
If Cal or Jp want to be gone they can.

Don't forget Gilbert, so they are going to replace them as well as the holes in the lineup they have already created

The M's are going to suck next year. It's obvious and plain as fucking day. They have no plan.

Beyond human comprehension what a horrific nightmare the 14 months that followed this amazing moment have been for this team just ruined by completely incompetent and pathetic ownership and management.
