James Paxton should probably become a closer. I'd like to see what he's got in that role.
I'd love to see it with the Mariners
If you can get 25 starts out of him next year, it makes one of Woo or Miller expendable.

I'd love it.
Which would be 24 more starts and about 167 more innings than we got out of him last time....

Yeah, I'd definitely be more interested in making Paxton a reliever than trying to get 20 or 30 starts out of him.

But he's probably too fragile and slow recovering to be a reliever anyways.

Maybe his stuff would uptake moving to the pen but he is 35yo had a 4.50 ERA, 4.68 FIP and 1.31 WHIP. Very meh.

He also hadn't pitched at all. Just 20 innings in 4 years until the 19 starts in '23.

Dude still throws 98 mph.

Like I said... if you can get 25 starts of 4 ERA ball and he posts close to 2 WAR as the no. 5... it's a no brainer.

He also gets the benefit of T-Mobile.

Guessing Jerry voted about 19 times to boost his bid trade deadline prize.

I like Marlowe/Trammell/Canzone in that order.

I think Trammell has the most potential, but he's got those dead eyes, I don't think he cares about baseball enough to put the effort in to be his best.

Marlowe seemed pretty useful all around and played well until they started jerking him around.

Guys like Marlowe and Mike Ford have to stay hot or they're gone, it's a shame. They're not given the rope to have ups and downs like Prince Kelenic.

Canzone looked too much like Ackley out there, with the deer in the headlights look.

They'll never find out what they have in these guys with their stupid platoon approach where they're sitting every other day, or half the game then pinch hitting. It'll just continue being a revolving door of guys who can't catch hold because they're in and out of the lineup.

I'd like to see them commit to somebody day one and only give these guys rest when they need it, or when they're actually facing an ace and want to play their lefty vs righty games.

Morosi is a clown but this might make sense. Essentially a two part three way trade:
