I know he’s a veteran with a good record overall, but he was 7-9 with a 4.58 ERA last season. Is that ringing any alarm bells for anyone?

People are absolutely flipping their lids on X like the trade is a done deal as opposed to being a rumor that Boob Nightengale likely pulled out of his ass.

Exactly. He’s an older Bryan Woo and Bryce Miller. Why would we trade for a guy with less team control?

Most MLB YouTube content is shockingly bad.

But Twitter doesn't discriminate... bunch of people who are casual fans and know zilch.

Would you guys trade Miller for Kebryan Hayes?

MLBTV gives it about even in trade valuation.

Hayes is the best defensive 3B in baseball, a former top 10 prospect, but has struggled to find his footing as a hitter until he was pretty damn good in the 2nd half of '23. In 49 2nd half games last year he slashed .299/.335/.539/.874 with 10 homers.

He put up 4.0 bWAR despite a 1st half where he only hit for a .683 OPS.

Something to note is that he had MASSIVE home/road splits. .901 OPS in Pittsburg, just .637 on the road.

He's due just $8ish million a year over the next 5 years into his age 32 season and has a club option of $12 million in his age 33 season.

No. I think he signed that sweetheart deal with the Pirates because he knows he can't hit.
