I honestly don't think he will do much of anything. There are too many buyers and not enough sellers so the price is going to be higher than Jerry is willing to pay. He will give some line about not mortgaging the future and tell the fan base that he is doing them a favor.

And he'd be right. What if people are sitting there saying for any of the names out there, that they are demanding Colt E, Montez and 2 more in our top 5 or 10 prospects all for that 1 bat. Would you do it?? Funny thing is that if he does make a move, he will get both praise/hatred for it cause it will be a steep price so there will be quite a few saying he gave away too much for that player and those that are glad we made some kind of move.

And then 5 years from now when Colt and Montez are hitting .230 in the bigs and we still need bats, he will say the same thing about the next wave of prospects.

Frankly, it's more entertaining to bring prospects up and watch them fail than to watch washed up veterans end their careers here.

We have a once in a generation rotation, so I say mortgaging the future is OK. Trouble is, we need to trust Jerry to trade the future for hitters who are producing now, not hitters who peaked 5 years ago.

I hate that it feels like a winning streak now would be a bad thing for the team long term.

I have zero confidence that Dipoto can figure out their offensive problems given his 9 years of failure. Especially now after he hired on Dave Cameron who is one of the worst baseball people I've ever encountered.

If the team makes the playoffs Dipoto receives credit he doesn't deserve for putting this team together imo.

Hopefully when the team misses by a game or two ownership does what they need to and brings in a new President, GM, and Coach with all new staffs.

Give........Luis Castillo

Get...... Heston Kjerstad OF, Coby Mayo 3b/1b, Conner Norby 2b/OF, Seth Johnson RHP

Trade 2 to Toronto

Give.....Cole Young, Harry Ford, Bryan Woo

Get......Vlad and Yimi Garcia

Trade 3 to Tampa

Give.....Luis Suisbel

Get... Jason Adam

Trade 4 to CWS

Give.....Tai Peete

Get....Eric Fedde

You lose Castillo and his $60+mill contract for 3 young starters Kjerstad goes into left, Mayo goes to 3b, Norby goes to 2b, that will save money for the next 6 years. Johnson looks to be a solid 4th or 5th guy in the rotation in a year or 2. Vlad and Julio have a bunch of solid hitters around them and you still have a top farm system. Yimi and Adam give the M's the high leverage guys we have needed in the pen. And Feede gives the rotation a solid pitcher who will eat innings for us.
