They should have traded him a few years ago when he was on the last year of his rookie deal. Could have probably got a first rounder for him then.

I think DK is extremely overrated by Seattle fans. His hands are below average, he doesn't catch contested balls as well as someone of his size should and he cant control his temper on the field.
I couldn't agree more. Again, give me JSN...and if DK can't adapt to the fact that the Hawks are treating the more dependable JSN as their #1? Maybe become more dependable. If he doesn't understand, have him read Captain 97s post above. DK is built like a Super Hero, but plays WR much more like an alter ego.

He was tied for 39th in the NFL in catches last year. Yep, tied with Demario Douglass, Zach Ertz and Hunter Henry.
He was tied with Darnell Mooney for 29th in yards. Oh, and a mere 2 yards ahead of Puka Nakua, who played FIVE fewer games.
He was tied for 50th in TDs. Tied with guys like Mooney, Adam Thielen, Josh Downs and Chris Godwin. Oh yeah, Godwin played EIGHT fewer games than DK!

Maybe he should run track and do body building shows, because I believe he and his agent have a far inflated opinion of his Football value than the rest of the world.

I didn't realize his numbers were so ... mediocre. But I agree, DK does not seem to have great football skills. He doesn't change direction, make cuts, box out, etc. nearly as well as an average pro receiver. He relies on his size, speed, and strength.

* Edit for all opposing teams' GMs and fans: I didn't mean any of that. DK is the best receiver on the planet and has a balanced, mature, calm approach to the game. Having watched him close up, I can assure you he would be a bargain in exchange for 2 first rounders.

Let's hope they can fool a team or two and get a decent haul in return. Deebo only netted a 5th rounder.

Yeah I think best we can hope for is a 3rd or maybe 2nd round pick.

I'm not sad to see him go either - good player but as has been said - not a great WR and I wasn't looking forward to giving him 30+mill per year when he's not worth it.

I wonder why he wants a trade?
Geno is going to be his QB?
The GB talk was real?
He knows this team isn't a SB contender?
The Hawks are making JSN their #1 and he doesn't want to share the spotlight?

Those are the ideas that pop in my mind.
I'm gonna guess if he had a fat contract extension sitting in front of him he's a lot happier. I doubt extension talks are going well and if he doesn't have one this off season then you're looking at another Earl Thomas nightmare

1. Hard to compare a great head coach, great QB, and Great offensive mind of the Rams
2. Not a DK apologist. But, he had Geno.
3. He had Geno not even looking at him or anticipating throws/routes at all
4. Geno hit JSN on so many short routes, while DK was running long/deep with a crappy oline
5. Shitty offensive Coord last year.
6. Rookie HC that couldn't get his assistant to listen to him during the year.

So, many items went against DK this past year. I can see why he wants out. And is it going to change with yet another OC, yet another set of online picked by John, and how many years of so so drafts and no playoffs. John has had 10 years to retool and refix. And we are good, just not real good.

Hard to read "I"m not a DK apologist" and then the rest and agree with you! LOL

You are intitled to your opinion, but DK put up some damn good numbers with Geno the year before. Maybe if DK was running better routes, Geno would have had a better year?

Is Deebo really a comp though? I looked at Deebo's recent numbers and they aren't much.
What strike me with DK is the timing. I think he and his agent purposely waited for the Lockett announcement before doing this announcement.
What if DK had said this last week? Would it have changed the Lockett situation?

Do you really need to keep Geno at an expensive contract if we are down to only one premier WR?

I'd wanna play in the CFL if Geno Smith was my QB and the team was seriously thinking about handing his mid ass $40 million a year.

All-pro guard Joe Thuney was traded to the Bears for a 2026 4th round pick today. Like DK he is in the final year of his contract so that might indicate what kind of return we should expect for him. On the other hand, KC needed to shed salary so probably settled for less. Too bad JS couldn't compete with that offer.
