When he hits 8 homeruns in 8 consecutive days, we'll talk.
5 homers in his last 5 games

7 down 32 to go!
6 HR in 6 games. 8 down 31 to go!

Now 7 in 9 games plus 2 doubles, 5 walks, and a SB. Cal is on a a hell of a hot streak.

9 down 30 to go

He's looking great.

20 hits so far and 9 have been homeruns.

The last two seasons he's had 119 and 120 hits... Never know.

He is on pace for 66 HRs. Dylan is on pace for 37. Yes you have now entered the Twilight zone.

I don't count quoted mark as legit. You can't count A-Rod's '94 17-gm season as a season. C'mon. apples to apples here. his '95 was only 48 gms, too.

I predict Cal will have a 25 game stretch without a HR this season.

First 2000 at-bats would be a better measure.

I tried fangraphs and baseballref (stathead) but couldn't generate a table for first 2000 at-bats. Anyone now how to do it?

Cal has 102 home runs in 1658 at-bats. In his first 2000 at-bats Griffey had 82. But he was young and didn't really develop into a power hitter until his 5th season.
