By who? Did the Seahawks have 3 veteran QBs with starting experience on the roster when they drafted him? And Russell had a lot better college career than Milroe. It's a bad comparison.
Tons of pundits hated the Wilson pick.

Peter Schrager has a pretty famous video.
I don't recall that. Maybe there were a lot of media pundits out there at the time that thought Flynn was going to be the answer.
I think it primarily turned on RW not viewed as a NFL starting QB. And that wasn't based on his production, it was his physical limitations, his height. There really was a lot made of that. His peak value was viewed as a backup. The perception was JS had used a 3rd round pick to find a backup to Matt Flynn. I remember the discussion at the time, trying to rationalize it. Nobody envisioned RW's actual ceiling. Milroe is the opposite, it's all about his huge ceiling

I haven't heard any character issues with Milroe. He was in green bay, he just wanted to hear his name called he says. I think that's kinda cool.
"He's as hard of a working player as I've ever been around. He's a completely committed, devoted student-athlete in all areas," Sheridan said Wednesday. "His teammates respect that. And I think he's becoming more and more comfortable, even in our time here, of using his voice to encourage, to confront, to demand. Because he's certainly putting in the time and the work
.Fifteen draft prospects came to Green Bay for the first round of the draft on Thursday night and two of them are still waiting to hear their names called.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe and cornerback Will Johnson were both left in the green room after the Chiefs closed out the night by selecting tackle Josh Simmons with the 32nd overall pick.

Milroe was always seen as a long shot to wind up being picked in the first round and said he came to Green Bay anyway because he wants to hear his name announced whenever he is picked.

Milroe could probably have made around the same money if he had stayed in college for another year as he will as a Seahawk. He might have raised his value
Milroe is set to make about $1.14 million this season with the Seattle Seahawks after they selected him with the 92nd overall pick in the third round of the NFL Draft, according to the NFL’s rookie wage scale via Spotrac.

That’s in the ballpark of what quarterbacks are understood to be making in college football in the current market

Now the Seahawks have 5 QB's.
Seneca 2.0
Probably. But they are hoping he's Lamar 2.0.

Pretty ironic that Sanders will likely be taking a pay cut from his NIL money to his NFL salary given his day 3 draft slot. lol

This is amazing.... I like this kid:

For Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, he had a simple message for the 31 other teams who opted not to take him in the 2025 NFL Draft.

“Belt to ass,” he said in his media conference call.

That was the entire answer.

Someone start printing the t shirts STAT

A wasted pick with all the other needs this team has. John is a fucking dumb bitch.
They have two years to develop him into Darnolds replacement, RW was considered a wasted pick

Can't really compare their full college careers because Wilson was a 4 year starter and Milroe only started 2 seasons. Wilson didn't really pop until his senior year. Compare their Junior years.....

Wilson 308-527 58.4% completions 3563 Yards, 6.8 yards per attempt, 127.5 rating. 439 Yards rushing
Milroe 205-319 64.3% Completions 2844 Yards, 8.9 Yards per attempt, 148.8 rating. 726 Yards rushing

... and Milroe had by far the better supporting cast.

The point is they already invested in a QB that will be the starter here for at least the next two years. And they have two other QBs that have been starters with other teams. Drafting a developmental QB on day two that won't even be able to compete for a starting role until 2027 shouldn't have been a higher priority than trying to address glaring weaknesses at other positions on the roster. As it stands , this team has one of the weakest WR groups in the league, no depth at ILB, and the NTs are Brandon Pili and Quinton Bohanna (unless they put Murphy out of position again). I'll go peal a banana while you ponder over how this D is going to be any better than last year's.

I hope so. I like this pick as a developmental project at 92, and if we can work him into some plays this year, I'm in.
