It was definitely a Service thing. It was almost like he would throw game three if they won game one and two.

I think the Mariners focus on winning series since that is what we were doing. Had we won 7 in a row? That's what they would have focused on. All those series wins and this little streak I think has now made us 4 and 6 in our last ten. It can be erased pretty damn quick. Luckily no one in our division is really deciding to go on a win streak.

What's better in a 9 game home stand with three teams?
2-1
2-1
2-1
Or
3-0
3-0
1-2
The answer is obvious but I swear the series wins fanatics would tell you the former is the better outcome because you won all three series.

So replace Garver with Ford. How often does Garver play as the backup catcher, once a week? That wouldn't be doing Ford any favors with his developmentSeattle or Bust wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 4:18 amRoster moves I'd make:
DFA: Garver, Solano, Tellez, Bazardo, Thorton
Call Up: Ford, Locklear, Canzone, Cronin, Hobbs
But hey, wtf do I know. They'd rather roll 3x sloths out there and 2x worthless pitchers than try to win so fuck me.

That's because garver sucks. Typically it's a 2/3 1/3 type deal but yeah he wouldn't be playing as much unless you DHed him on occasionDonn Beach wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 11:08 pmSo replace Garver with Ford. He really doesn't suck as the backup catcher, that's what he is. They aren't playing CalI extra because of Garver being backup. They don't break out backup catcher, at least where I looked, but I would bet Garver is probably average slash line wise with other backup catchers I really don't want Ford dhing. I'm dubious how his offense would play in MLB, it barely plays in Tacoma. I doubt you get better offense from Ford than you do from Garver other than speed, and Ford isn't going to improve playing once a weekD-train wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 11:28 pmThat's because garver sucks. He would play more than once a week but I agree. Want to build his value to trade him by playing regularly in Tacoma. But we will need a backup catcher next year if they don't trade him. I think that will be his role in the big leagues

Re: The Skankies are coming to town G.T. 5 / 12 / 25
how would he play more than once a week? I really don't think you use a legit prospect as a backup catcher. If your starter isn't that great so you can share the position but I'm not taking at bats away from Cal to play Ford. Ford needs to learn another position
Re: The Skankies are coming to town G.T. 5 / 12 / 25
Cal leads the league in games played for catchers. Most starting catchers get many more games off
