If the Mariners can't get a W out of this it's time to stick a fork in them.

BTW, is Hollander the GM or is he not? Why doesn't he ever have to answer for any of the roster deficiencies and bonehead decisions like not holding on to Pomeranz after ST. I've heard him being interviewed on one of the sports radio stations once ever (with Wyman and Bob on 710espn i think) and they pretty much kissed his ass like he was some kind of legendary figure of Seattle sports. The impression i have of him is that he is a gutless "yes man" and is only given a token level of autonomy with regard to roster moves, but enough so that there is less heat on Jerry and John for the lack of success on the field.
Pomeranz was about his contract, they were required to make him available to a team that would give him a ML roster spot

hollander on the resent struggles
"Our team is trying to find ways to make it work. And it seems like if one group steps up in a given night, the other group unfortunately is not able to hold up their end of the bargain. And right now it just feels like there's just not enough contribution from all sides of the ball right now, and that happens. ... The things that we have sort of built our foundation of our starting rotation around just haven't been as consistent this year. That's not to say there haven't that there haven't been really good things."

Been a long fall from the "best rotation in baseball" narrative.

Thanks Justin...

Yeah, that's what happens when you bank on near perfection from a pitching staff and add 6 turds to your every day roster.

It's funny how Harmony and Vogelbomb get real scarce around here when the team looks like this.

I also take it back... I was wrong about them trading Geno.

He's got some crazy home/road splits this year but still... we've got a guy with a .600 OPS and we think it's passable.

Another year of 100 RBIs from him in 2024, they would’ve made the playoffs, likely.
