Yeah, I saw that, lowered his hands didn't he? Hes been transformed since June 11th. So wouldn't that make the previous numbers kinda mute? I was thinking he could have developed from the player that was exposed his previous call up. I could see them not wanting to hurry, let him get comfortable with the new mechanics before subjecting him to ML pitching again, we shall see
No, it wouldn't make them moot.

It would make them more impressive considering his biggest flaw as a hitter was that he couldn't catch up to the fastball.

He's always been a very good breaking ball hitter... which is something most hitters in the minors really struggle with.

I'm not sure how any prospect is going to overcome your lack of respect then.

How about his Arkansas numbers where he hit .291/.401/.532/.933 in what is supposedly a dystopian hell hole for hitters?

Bottom line is he's a career .895 OPS hitter in the minors. Not sure what else the kid is supposed to do.

He's reduced his K rates this year. Walks at a very good clip. Has added power since making adjustments in his setup.

If that hasn't earned him a look, idk what does.

Amazing what information we have now to measure players' swings and find ways to improve them. Back in the old days, if Lou Gehrig went into a slump Babe Ruth would just yell, "HIT THE BALL, YA BUM!"

Even so, this is probably not the ideal place to start your hands if you want to catch up to 97.

Or wear a jersey sporting a logo of someone's dick and balls in a cowboy hat.

It's weird how it converts. On the one hand, Dominic Canzone was hitting well at Tacoma and is hitting well with the Mariners. On the other hand, Leo Rivas is batting .333 with seven home runs at Tacoma but with the Mariners couldn't even hit the ball to the co-ed line.

I'm all in on Locklear after reading this and watching his recent game tape. He's using the whole field. He's making adjustments to handle the off speed as well as the heater. He's also just 24 with the kind of power you look for from your 1b. He's seriously been overlooked and dogged by prospect evaluators for the last 15 months. The M's drafted him in the second round for a reason and it's starting to piss me off that they've just left him behind in AAA b.c they paid Solano $3.5 million. The fuck? So what?

He looks incredible, too btw. He looks powerful and athletic whereas Naylor is a few Big Macs short of suiting up for the Huskies at OG

At this point he is looking like someone who should be playing first base for us, maybe sharing duties with Naylor who would DH much of the time. Solano's entire season has been, what, two or three good weeks leading to probably the most misleading season stat line we've ever seen?

Only problem is, if we acquire Suarez, calling up Locklear would probably force out Polanco who's settled in and having a nice season. Looks like Locklear might have to wait until the September call-ups.

The Yankees grab McMahon.

I was right... they didn't want to destroy what little remains of the top portion of their farm for 2 months of Geno.

They would have had to give up their 2 best and make their farm the worst in baseball likely.

And it's at the minors and college now, look at like the DR, how they project kids 14-15
