His "failing" is no worse than what Solano is providing right now.

I think you take the chance on the idea that he could be slightly if not way better.

He could be similar to Canzone in that respect. Everyone wanted to go with Leody when Canzone was tearing the cover off the ball. It seems he's gotten over the bright lights of the big leagues... perhaps Locklear will be in the same spot.
Who's "everyone"? I recall the exact opposite happening. I don't think that anybody here liked Taveras except that maybe someone might have expressed that he might "pull a Robles".
I more meant outside of the forum. I wasn't sold on him either and was begging for them to call up Canzone pretty much all of May.

Twitter was having a circle jerk to the signing.

That's interesting though, Yankees giving up on Suarez. McMahon isn't a rental either

Oh yeah, Twitter, where Mariner fans who call home plate "home base" congregate. I can definitely see that.

The Yankees grab McMahon.

I was right... they didn't want to destroy what little remains of the top portion of their farm for 2 months of Geno.

They would have had to give up their 2 best and make their farm the worst in baseball likely.
A guy who routinely puts up .750 OPSs playing for the Rockies. The Yanks may well have downgraded. Remember what happened when we got Jeff Cirillo to play third base?
Downgraded? They are running out the worst hitter in baseball at this point, anything be an upgrade lol
You're right, Peraza oh man. But I don't think McMahon will be much better although he's a good defensive third baseman. Yankee fans don't like the trade, that's for sure.

The Yanks have money, they don’t have a farm.

Deal makes some sense given that the contract is under water, he’s got some upside, and the prospect capital was weak.

Yeah, see that now, owed another $32 mil, didn't realize he was in that tax bracket

Can't believe the Yankees pulled that trade for McMahon. Really, really dumb move.

Stupid is as stupid does. The Spanks are falling out of the East race for a reason. Keep throwing their money down the drain. Investing in aging and flawed players. Have a guy like Grisham having a career yr and he cant get on the field.

If we are unable to get Geno.....what do you all think about Willi Castro?!?!?!

The dude can literally play anywhere.
Doesn't have a ton of power but hits decent for average and has some speed!
Would still be an upgrade over what we have.
Might make some noise in the playoffs.
