Williamson

Post by Walla Walla Dawg II » Thu Jul 31, 2025 9:45 pm

I just heard that Williamson just got optioned down to Tacoma.

I disagree with this move. He can keep playing 3rd and Geno can DH. Williamson is a much better fielder that Geno and has the best fielding percentage in the AL. Wouldn't that make him eligible for the gold glove? If so, why is Jerry fucking him over like that?

Except that Geno is a third baseman and if management said "Welcome back, Geno, good to have you. Oh, and by the way, you're our DH", that probably would go over like a fart in a horse costume.

Exactly we all saw how well that worked out when they made Garver a full-time DH last season. Williamson is a total noodle bat and will never be a major league regular third baseman. Also if you made Gino the DH then where the heck would Polo be in the lineup?

Williamson would lose a lot of AB's staying up here.

He has just 7 base hits pulled to the outfield in 279 plate appearances. He needs to learn how to elevate/pull the ball more and tap into more power.

He can't really develop his bat at this level with lack of time and pitchers exploiting him.

This is about giving him the chance for his bat to improve.

No room to Dh that is Polancos job against rh. Sucks for Ben needs to work on his swing more.

I just think he will never go from hitting four home runs and almost 1,000 played appearances as a pro to even 10 home run power per season

It's like saying jk just needs to learn how to hit breaking balls. That actually was more likely than Ben somehow be able to hit with even medium power

I don't think I've ever seen a major league hitter who was so consistently late on fastballs. It's shocking that he never drilled the guy in the on-deck circle.

I was actually hoping Polo might play some 2nd Base.
