I funny think they necessarily prioritized him as much as he cost much less.D-train wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 2:53 pmI am doing a daily update on X to assess if Prioritizing Geno over Duran was the right decision. I believe it was.Bil522 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 2:27 pmHere is the after trade deadline top 30 prospect list

I know the M's were in it right to the end for Duran, I wonder who they offered?

Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
Tai Peete has been on a bit of a hot streak. Hopefully he can continue to decrease the Ks, because he has speed and power.

Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
Somebody's gotta take that left side of the infield. Which one is gonna make the switch. It's like a logjam of infielders. We just need a couple of those guys to take the next step. Definitely cut down on that strikeouts. We need contact from the SS & hopefully some power from the 3B.
Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
Not sure if young could end up at SS or if they have him pegged as 2B only. Emerson I could see at SS or 3B. I think Arroyo will be mostly a 2B thoughHawkandMariner88 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 4:38 amSomebody's gotta take that left side of the infield. Which one is gonna make the switch. Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
Our system also has Jonny Farmelo who brings the speed and power, but Peete is the guy that kinda flies under the radar as he hasn't yet posted an eye-popping OPS
Peete is a true 5-tool guy. You often hear "so-and-so is a 5-tool superstar" and yet that player offers a below-average glove or below-average arm. That isn't the case for Peete. He threw mid 90s from the mound. Has a big-time arm, accurate, too. He also has the speed. He's showing a good glove in CF and now he also is showing the power at the plate with 16 bombs this season. If he can continue to progress as a hitter to develop into a .290-310 type of bat (should rack up plenty of infield hits with his speed), while being a 30-30 guy. Holy smokes!
I like Peete's athleticsim. It's hard not to. Going to continue to root hard for him
Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
He's not a 5 tool unless his hit tool continues to progress. He's a bit raw and was always a bit more of a long project. His K rate is sitting at 30 % in Low A, but he's been better over the last 3 weeks. He may need to start next season in Modesto. Hopefully he continues to improve.Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 3:01 pmOur system also has Jonny Farmelo who brings the speed and power, but Peete is the guy that kinda flies under the radar as he hasn't yet posted an eye-popping OPS

Re: 2025 Prospects Thread
Hopefully he does develop, but a .733 OPS in the minors isnt encouraging. As Moneyball said, "If he's a good hitter, then why doesn't he hit good?"Vogelbomb wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 3:01 pmOur system also has Jonny Farmelo who brings the speed and power, but Peete is the guy that kinda flies under the radar as he hasn't yet posted an eye-popping OPS
