vice president, assistant GM to field coordinator is a promotion? That seems very odd to me
He must have got tired of being "pencil pusher" as my Dad would say in the 70s. Lol He would in shipping and receiving on the loading docks at Darigold on Elliot Ave just North of down town on the water and just west of Seattle Center. That is what he referred to the office guys upstairs.

Mariners pick up a new bullpen coach - former Mariner catcher Austin Nola. You may remember him as the guy they gave up to Ty Frances and Munoz.

A lot of fans on X really excited about this. John's Stanton's favorite part of the fan base.

Yeah why wouldn't they create a position for him. Maybe Jerry got tired of him???

Yeah, guess he's really wanted to be involved with the coaching staff but the mariners haven't been able to accomplish it

And former mariners bullpen coach, Stephen Vogt, wins his second AL manager of the year:

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/679866 ... -the-year/
Weird, did the Indians overachieve this year?
I didn’t really follow them this season either, but the article goes on to explain the following:

The Guardians stormed back in September and made major-league history by erasing a 15 1/2-game deficit to capture another division title. They reached the postseason despite an offense that ranked near the bottom of the league in every worthwhile category and despite missing Ortiz, Clase, Shane Bieber and Ben Lively on the pitching side.
Weird, i had forgotten about all that.

Coach of the year is pretty much just a did more with less award at this point. The Guardians won their division with the 25th ranked payroll in baseball.
