You can't possibly compare a time when we knew that Greg Lewis was followed by Beno Bryant and Nap Kaufman, when Brunnell and Hobert were both on the two deep, hell, how about the fact that Michael Penix was going to be succeeded by Austin Mack before Mack followed DeBoer....to what we have now. I knew the two deep, remember when Emtman was backing up Dennis Brown! Now? Fuck no. This is no different than what happened in Hoops with the One and Dones.
No one is telling you that you aren't allowed to follow, but trying to pretend this is anything even remotely similar to the old days? Brunell followed by Hobert, followed by Huard and not later another Huard. The Huskies lost a National Title game, and soon after? They had a Punter and Kicker left from the starting lineup. That is nothing close to attrition because a few Juniors go pro along with the Senior class that graduates.
The Final Four team under Petersen lost several early entries to the draft. Nothing like what we have now. I used to be able to tell you in July pretty much who every Pac 12 team was going to start at QB. Not just the Huskies. Now? I can't even name every team in the Huskies Conference, couldn't tell you 90% of the coaches in that Conference, and have not one single clue who is going to start at pretty much every position. ZERO chance that happened even just two or three years ago.
The game is broken. The amount of games I have watched in the last two college football seasons combined wouldn't add up to a normal week for me the year prior!

So, the face of the program is going to be a QB that can't win a big game and doesn't want to be here. Fantastic.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 6:54 pmLike I said the contract is binding and UW is refusing to enter his name in the Portal because of it.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:41 pmUW thinks it is legally binding and will sue. I mean what is the point of having contracts if they aren't binding. The timing of his post was tone deaf due it it being during the funeral but means nothing other than him getting even more hate than he would have but is irrelevant in the long run because he is gone. But either LSU will have to pay a settlement for tampering or Williams will be required to pay a portion of his new deal or both or those contracts will cease to exist if they aren't binding.Seattle or Bust wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 7:22 am
Demond signed a contract with UW.
Nothing is set in stone.

Fifita was the starting QB at Arizona under Fisch and their starter the last 3 years.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 2:50 pmYep agree with all that other than I have no idea who Fifita is. lolSeattle or Bust wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:31 amSupposedly taking a deal $1M more with LSU after signing a deal from UW. UW states they're going to fight this with legal action.
All fun,
But I'm not really that shook up about it. Demond is a good, not great QB. He's a very athletic runner, but his feel for when to run needs a lot of work as his pocket clock is horrible. He took a lot of unneeded sacks due to this problem alongside struggles with going down to ankle tackles. He really regressed as a passer as the season wore on as well - missed multiple wide-open throws that really hurt UW. To me, he's more of an athlete playing QB and his feel for playing the position really holds him back.
I heard Noah Fifita hit the transfer portal... wouldn't be shocked if he lands at the U. He's better than Demond currently.
Pretty much has averaged 3,000 yards, 25 TD's, 8 or so picks a year. Similar game to Demond to be honest.
It was surprising when he didn't transfer with Fisch a couple of years ago considering he was coming off winning the Pac 12 offensive freshman of the year.

There is zero chance Demond plays here next year. What they are doing is leveraging themselves for compensation. They have a legal argument so they are going to milk it and see if they can get some cash from LSU in order to release him from his deal. Kind of like the posturing the City Council did over the Sonics Lease when they left town. They didn't really care if they left or not but they wanted some money.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 6:57 pmSo, the face of the program is going to be a QB that can't win a big game and doesn't want to be here. It is obviously very different off the field now I didn't say it wasn't. I just was never very into recruiting and off the field stuff so it's not a significant difference for me and the games are still great.Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 6:57 pmYou can't possibly compare a time when we knew that Greg Lewis was followed by Beno Bryant and Nap Kaufman, when Brunnell and Hobert were both on the two deep, hell, how about the fact that Michael Penix was going to be succeeded by Austin Mack before Mack followed DeBoer....to what we have now. Exactly and they will get what they committed to him and hopefully a few million more from LSU and we will be better off in the end. And won't have a little punk b**** as our QB . Perfect.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 8:05 pmThere is zero chance Demond plays here next year. What they are doing is leveraging themselves for compensation. On top of being a punk for dumping UW, he really doubled down on being an ass by releasing his statement during the widely publicized and attended memorial service of Mia Hamnt, a UW soccer player that lost her battle with kidney cancer in November. Team captains had decided that the football team would show up en masse to support the women's soccer team. The punk ass bitch couldn't wait until later in the evening to release his statement.

Softy was postulating today that the way things are going, worse than ever before in terms of any boundaries or NCAA enforcement (talk about "lack of institutional control", that they wouldn't be shocked to see some ultra-talented QB switch teams mid-season if they got off to a slow start with the first one. Cited one example of a guy who transferred teams without even bothering about the portal, and no one doing anything about it.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 1:31 amJust the epitome of tone deaf and being totally self absorbed.Michael K. wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 12:11 amAgreed, that was incredibly fucked up.Bil522 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 10:35 pmOn top of being a punk for dumping UW, he really doubled down on being an ass by releasing his statement during the widely publicized and attended memorial service of Mia Hamnt, a UW soccer player that lost her battle with kidney cancer in November.
